Due to various health issues, I am taking a hiatus from this site until further notice, Suse. ❤

Six of Angel John's seven cats now have a forever home with me. They are adapting very well with me and my many critters.

I'm from the SOUTH where ...
Everyone pulls over to let a funeral procession pass. We don't have fireflies; we got lightnin' bugs. Tators are mandatory while shoes are NOT. Y'all is a proper noun. Ain't is a word. Chicken is fried. Biscuits come with gravy. Sweet tea is the house wine. Shopping carts are buggies. We never disrespect our elders. We talk to strangers. We wave a lot. We love pearls, porches, peanuts, and blessin' hearts.

Member since Aug 1st, 2011. I'm from Louisiana - a feral cat caregiver, an animal lover and a voracious reader. I have a deep patriotic love for America, am a devout Roman Catholic, and have a fond addiction to super strong black coffee and dark chocolate. My nickname is Suse.
My beloved late husband and soul mate, Craig, long marveled at my love for cemeteries - the older, the better. A taphophile I am - taphophilia is a passion for and enjoyment of cemeteries - I love walking through them delighting in the solitude and peacefulness as I read markers and headstones.
My heart holds a very special spot for veterans, members of law enforcement and other first responders, children, and animals. Support our troops, back the badge, and report child and animal neglect and abuse. Sidney Sheldon, an American writer, stated my own thoughts, but ever so eloquently: "My heroes are those who risk their lives every day to protect our world and make it a better place - police, firefighters and members of our armed forces."
I believe every memorial should have a virtual flower. When I see one without, I add one; it's an honor to leave my respects. That person was once loved and cherished by someone, somewhere.
I deeply appreciate each and every visit from others. ❤
