I was wondering how you are related to John Baird (1665-1755)He is an ancestor of mine and I'm trying to make a family tree and would love any information you might be able to provide me. John is my 8x great grandfather. My email is cowgirljd@msn.

First of all sorry for sending for messages in a row. The last one I hit enter by mistake before I entered my message. I heard from Jean, she said that she has assumed that the Trowbridge stone is also Lemuel and Margaret but does not know why there are no dates or names on the stone. I did not ask her how she came to enter Margaret's memorial. I you would like to contact her, do so on Margaret's memorial page and use edit tab on right. She does not have a option to contact her thru message system. Take care. Kathy

If you will look at the picture on AC Trowbridge's memorial page, you will notice a small stone next to his. The stone says Pauline Trowbridge and is one I have seen many times at Oak Lawn for baby graves, but it may be an adult grave. There is a memorial for Pauline on findagrave. Kathy

Yes the Trowbridge that is listed at Oak Lawn is the stone that I photographed and added to Lemuel's memorial. Would you like me to transfer that memorial to you? I will let you know when I hear from Jean. Kathy

Tamara, so glad you have been able to find the information on your Great Grandfather. I will contact Jean who has the memorial of Lemuel's wife and see what she may know of them. Oak Lawn as recently went online. Go to westplains.net, when the site comes up, click on map center (on right of page). After it down loads there will be a place to enter search on left side. Enter the name of the person you are looking for and their info will come up. Sadly they only have the name Trowbridge for the grave I have assumed is Lemuel's. I don't know if that is all the info they would have if you called the cemetery office. Keep looking, patience sometimes pays off. Kathy
Let me know how to help, Miss Tamara, and you have me in your corner to help!
P. S. don't forget me!!!!

Here you go, Miss Tamara. I did the links and what not but decided I wasn't waiting for you to ask for a transfer, I'd just do that since he is your grandfather and no relation to me. You take good care of him now because he is "special." At the library that name just sounded neat so I pulled the obituary! LOL, lucky YOU!
|Kathy Franks||Lemuel Trowbridge|
As you can see from Lemuel's memorial, I am assuming this is his grave since he is buried in West Plains. Trowbridge is only name on stone. It is very possible that there are more than one family member in this plot. There are several stones at Oak Lawn with only the surname on stone.
In the future Oak Lawn will be going online. They have spent about a year working on this project, entering all the names they have and taking photos of each gravestone. There are workers at the cemetery each week day from 7 to 4, the only number I can find is 417-256-4745. They do have information of a computer in the office.
I have been working on taking pictures at Oak Lawn since early May. I have found about 100 graves so far that are in oldest additions of cemetery that have not been added to findagrave, so it is possible that if Roy is not with Lemuel, he may be in another location. Let me know if you would like me to transfer this memorial to you. I will let you know if I find any new info.
FYI you can search Missouri death certificates free at sos.mo.gov/archives. Death certificates after 1910 you can print free of charge. Kathy
