I am an avid genealogy and family history researcher. All of my ancestors were in Monroe County Indiana by the 1850's -- most by the 1820's. I do research there and am particularly familiar with the cemeteries of that area.|
I am equally enthusiastic about the ancestors of my husband who are primarily located in the Missouri counties of Franklin, Saline, Howard, and the counties around Kansas City.
Always glad to share information when asked. You may use my photos as long as credit is given.
Just use the Edit button on any memorial you would like updated. I follow Find a Grave guidelines on transfers of memorials. I am related to some degree on all memorials I maintain.

you're welcome.......always glad to help :)
|Lynn Marie Vint||RE: Cox Family.......|
Vora's wife, Mary Butcher Cox, was my great-grandmother's sister. (Vora and Mary were my g-g-aunt and g-g-uncle.)
I'm glad to know I now have a contact for questions about the Cox and Brummett families!
I've got a lot of information on Find A Grave about the Butcher family, but let me know if you have a question you think I might be able to answer. I'm always happy to help others.

Thank you for the links to Daniel Webster Vorhees "Vora" Cox's parents. Are you related to them? I love your picture of Charon Cox.
|Kathy Phelan||James Willis Sluss|
I came across his name and didn't find any reference to him other than he was Martha Alice Sluss' brother.
Any idea what happened to him? I see he died in 1933, but so far he has eluded the Find A Grave people.
I too have ancestors who entered Monroe County in the 1820s. They were Jonathan Corsaw with his wife Betsy Prigmore and their children, and Cornelius Mershon, with his wife Margaret Clifford and their children. Cornelius Mershon's sister Sarah also arrived with her husband James Alexander. One of their daughters Sarah married Paris Chipman Dunning who served for a year as Governor of Indiana. Jonathan Corsaw's daughter Cynthia also married Cornelius Mershon after his first wife died, and they had five children – one of whom was my great grandfather Jonathan Daniel Mershon. Jonathan Corsaw is also remembered to this day for the excellence of his grave stone carving in several Bloomington area cemeteries. And I'm familiar with the troubles of the Mershon during the 1870s and 1780s: the murder, the exile, etc.
I am offering this genealogy only to demonstrate the depth of my research. I also have a question. My mother always told me that her grandfather, Jonathan Daniel Mershon who I mentioned before, was an illegitimate child of Paris Dunning and "some girl". Can you throw any light onto this possibility.

|Forget Me Not||RE: checking on updating status|
Thank you for being so understanding. The last 4 months has been the most bizarre time in my life. I always wondered how some people always seemed to have chaos or drama surrounding them and now our family found ourselves in that category for about 4 months. 3 close family deaths, a major move and settling my parents estate. Whew glad that's over, or at least I hope so.
I have made some updates for you and plan to get the rest done this week. I am also giving you credit for the updated information if that's okay with you. If you prefer not to be mentioned please let me know.
Thanks and have a great week.

Hello, Sorry that I did not get to your email about transfers of your Kitchen relations until now. My cousin has been taking care of my site this year and she does not get to the emails very often. I am related to the Armistead side of the Kitchen's. Please go to the edit section of their sites and email me and I will tell you how I am related. I do nat want my e-mail listed on an open site, I have been harrased by a person on Find-A-Grave and he has already given me a lot of problems all ready and he is one of the reasons I have not been working on this site at all this year. Again, I am so sorry for the delay in all of this, 2013 has been really busy for me & my family.

Do we know what happened to James Arthur Young? I have a birth and death date but no place of burial.
Also - Merrit Edwin. I see he has a place on the parents stone, but is he there? Where was he killed?
We have pictures now for James Howard & Edna Peterson Young on Find A Grave as well as Jefferson

On paper I have Fourdyce,Eads,Sullivan,Ryan,Stubbs and Beebe connections. Will do the Find A Grave connections later.
Thank you again for an interesting morning,
