I try to fullfill any photo requests in the area that I live in, when the weather is nice. Any info or any photos I post can be copied and used for any free site or personal use. After I post a photo to a memorial I don't keep it long on my computer. If you see a memorial that you want management of please feel free to ask, I will transfer if you will add more info to it. Also when I am out picture taking I will always take photos of any Veteran's headstone and post it, and any unusual headstone I see.|
I have found that if you are a volunteer photo taker you might want to have a few 'tools' with you; small rake or broom, gardening gloves, spray bottle with water, paper towels and a small bucket to carry it all in. If you are going to place flags or anything on a small pole it helps to have a screwdriver to make the hole so the stick doesn't break. My daughter's brownie troop placed flags at the Kentucky Veterans Cemtery this last Veterans day and the screwdrivers came in real handy.
I am still learning to take better photos, so bear with me, if you see a photo I took and would like a better one posted please contact me and I will try.

Bob is Cindy's uncle & he is the official caretaker for Hampton Cemetery. I am sure he would be more than happy to accept any help you want to give.
Have you asked your Grandma about his grave? I wish I could remember what she told me. Or maybe it was my Uncle Leon. It was 11 years ago!
Berkley Hampton might know. I have received a lot of help from him over the years. Have you posted it on one of the message boards?
If you need e-mail addresses for any of these people, contact me through my e-mail address & I will send them to you. Let me know what you find out.

|Megan Heyl||Old Cathedral Cemetery -|
I noticed that you inquired about "the Old Cathedral" cemetery on Kaskaskia Island on the message board for a member named Cheryl.
I am Megan Heyl and am heading up the cemetery project for the Randolph County Genealogical Society.
There is no cemetery called Old Cathedral. I am not sure where she got this information, but the cemetery where she "thinks" her burials are at are really at the (as listed in this site) Kaskaskia Cemetery.
Now let me explain - there are really 2 cemeteries at this site - 1) Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery (aka Kaskaskia Cemetery) and 2) Immaculate Conception Protestant Cemetery (aka Kaskaskia Cemetery).
There is a large empty mowed grassy area between the two - the Catholics over there (pointing left) and the Protestants over there (pointing right). Immaculate Conception was the name of the church - and the church still maintains the cemetery.
I hope this helps with your research. If you wish to contact me about any cemetery information - please do so at email@example.com I will be more than happy to clear the mud and errors posted on this site. (which we are trying to fix!)
Hey - just finished taking all readable markers at Fairmount and did not find any more of the Beckett family. So I will post a picture in that section if that is o.k.? Praise the Lord this project is finished and I loved doing it.

You're very welcome, happy I was able to find them! I try to add that little picture of the dates if it seems hard to read...I figure if someone is requesting a photo, they probably want that info :)
