Thanks for the info and pictures. James and Elizabeth are my 3rd great grandparents. William Henry and Dora are my Great grandparents. Their son Albert was my grandfather and I am trying to find information on his wife Lillie Rose Gum. Any ideas?

Sorry this comment is so late, but I haven't been active on this site for a while. Just wanted to let you know that Elijah, Sarah and Ella were living in Storm Lake, Iowa in 1870, so it's more likely the photo was taken there. Keep up all your good work!

Hi ... sorry for the late reply. Thomas Sloan Whitehead was my 3rd great grandfather, too ... so we're 4th cousins, I think. It looks like you found a way to make a link between James Connor Whitehead and the children you wanted me to link up, so that's good. I have a picture of Thomas Sloan Whitehead, or at least a picture of a portrait of him. One of these days I need to try to upload my pictures if I can get a scanner to work.

Thank you for taking this photo for me. I really do appreciate it as he is so far away from me, I doubt I would ever have been able to see his stone if it were not for you photographing him for me. Thanks again!

Ray, haven't been able to find Rosies burial place, but heres some info. She married James Alexander Smith Nov 1895. They had one child born in Indian Territory, Oklahoma. her name was Winifred Josephine Smith 1896-1974 , married to a Claud Rochwell Backes. She died in Canton, Blaine, Oklahoma. They had 6 children, Floyd, Effie, Melvin, Claud, Winifred, and Mable. Hope this helps!

IOOF Cemetery has approx. 1800 burials. There are
no Whiteheads listed. IOOF Cemetery was started in 1885. I checked Humboldt West (started 1855) &
Humboldt East (started 1864), no Whireheads listed.
The listings were made by marker readings, if the graves were unmarked they would not be listed.
In Coles Co. Morgan Twp. at Union Cemetery are John A. (1899-1953)& Marie A. Whitehead (1897-), these are the only Whiteheads I could find.
Good Luck (if I come across anything I will forward)

Hi - I am posting photos of the headstones for James and Elizabeth Wilkes. I apologize in advance for the quality of the photos. Due to my limited time visiting Shawano, I was able only to take photos during late afternoon making it difficult to take clear pictures. Also, both headstones are severely eroded, and it is difficult to decipher much on the headstones.
Thanks - Jeff
James and Alma Whitehead also had a daughter named Rebecca Alice Whitehead. Her memorial is 5885047. Later!
