|I'm a retired Computer Specialist, and have enjoyed working on my family genealogy for several years now. I marvel at how much material is available online now, that formerly required endless trips to research facilities! Just started really using the Find-A-Grave system around July, 2011 and find it a fantastic tool to not only assist others by taking photos of gravestones when requests come in, but have reaped benefits myself, having discovered what became of a gr-gr-aunt that I had frustratingly tried for years to research. Am always thrilled to find old photos of ancestors, and encountering 'new' relatives. Am also a proud member of the SCV, having discovered that my gr-gr-grandfather fought for his South homeland. Also enjoy singing in our church choir, and Gospel band, playing banjo and guitar.|

I found an address for you on the POW Memorial Bricks application for Point Lookout. I could not locate a phone number. I am attending a "cousins" reunion of a Point Lookout survivor (Lt. Evans Atwood in two weeks. I visited Point Lookout this past winter and discovered the memorial.
I would like to know if it is still possible to order a brick for our ancester to be included at the memorial. It looked like there was still room for more. At the reunion I will 1)confirm that no one has already done this [I didn't have time to read all the bricks] and 2)to report your reply.

Thanks again for the photos and inscription!
That's a neat trick with the shaving cream.

Thank you for taking the photo!
Do you have any idea what the script inscription at the bottom of the tombstone says? I can't quite make it out.

Glad you like them! And please make sure to check out the other Dodsons that I came across - they may help fill in some blanks for you. Also, if they're your kin, feel free to put in requests for transfers (or photo requests). My best, Cor.

My pleasure to be of service to you. In the area surrounding that large "Matthews" headstone there are probably twenty or so members of the Matthews family lying at rest side by side. If there is someone on that side of the family you are looking for they are probably right there.
My apologies if I had not written you back. Thank you for searching the cemetery. I am guessing now that he had no headstone. Thank you again for taking time to search. Thank you for all that you do for Find a grave.
