RE: VanAkkerens @ Oakhill
My pleasure. These weren't as bad as some others I've reclaimed from this section at Oakhill.

Harvey Smalligan Memorial Edits
I have your request for editing the plot identifier for the Harvey Smalligan memorials, thank you for taking the time to submit it. However, I'm going to wait on it for the time being, it seems the City of Fremont has changed the way they identify plot locations, and I need to figure how the new way correlates to the old way before I modify anything. I don't want to lose anybody! I've got thousands of memorials in Maple grove so it could take a little while, but I didn't want you to think I was ignoring it.

Best regards,

RE: VANHEMERTs @ Greenwood Cem
I use PhotoScape. It is FREE software which means you have to be careful where you download from because many immoral people will piggyback the download with viruses/spyware. PhotoScape is available for both PC and Mac. Easy to use... one of the best photo management programs I've used.

Please see added photo for Daniel and Cornelia showing marked spaces. Hope that helps. There were (4) Van Hemert graves in this section: Jacob, Caroline, Daniel and Cornelia. Photos have been uploaded for each.

Maple Grove Cemetery finds
My name is Scott Jensen "" and I photographed many of your photo requests today from the Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont, MI. I wanted to share one interesting fact that I uncovered. Forgive me if you already have this information. When I photographed the "MAAT" family plot, I found the father, John, the mother, Gertrude, and son Gratis. Surprisingly, I found a stone next to that of Gratis, with this inscription "GRANDFATHER" 1824-1915. I looked in the cemetery records which show that John Maat purchased the plot for Hendrik Maat. I found the name of Hendrik Maat, already in find-a-grave with memorial #7166633. I looked for an additional document on Hendrik Maat and found in the source: MI Deaths and Burials 1800-1995. Henry Maat
death August 6, 1915 in Dayton Twp, Newaygo, MI
age: 91 years
birth: 1824 in Germany
marital status: widowed
father: John Maat
mother: Ella Beckford

I DID add the information to the memorial on find-a-grave for Hendrik Maat. I also added the connection between Hendrik and his son John Maat. Find-a-grave takes a couple days to process this information before updating the memorial. But I wanted to give you a heads up because I thought it was pretty exciting to go back not only one generation back from John, but another generation from Hendrik to his parents, as well.
Feel free to contact me for any more help. I would be happy to clean and photograph any other gravesites in this family for you.

RE: TENNEYs @ Union
I have some other Tenney photos that didn't seem to fit into memorials. Let me know if you'd like to see them, and I'll send them along via e-mail.

We plan to get to Sterling again in a few weeks (we were there last year).

Vander Werff is the normal spelling. Some of the Vander Werff & De Haai family stones were not taken in the best light. If I can do better on these I might replace them & let you know.
