I have been doing my family genealogy for over 30 years. For the last ten years I have been visiting cemeteries throughout New England. Until recently I have never though about bringing a camera with me. Now I take with me all the time. Its a nice thing to preserve the past headstones. A lot of them are now becoming unreadable or destroyed by the weather.

RE: Jonathan Hopkins
Thanks for uploading this. I am seeing that the family is listed in both cemeteries now. Dr. Barbour wrote on Jonathan's death record that he was buried in Canaan, but did not list the cemetery.

I'm working through the Old Hall Stream Cemetery listings - putting the burial information on familysearch.org - I hadn't gotten to the Canaan listings yet.

I never suspected there would be dual stones. Part of this might be due to the international border "moving" over the years - who knows.

I am trying to figure out whose child Freddy Hopkins, age 1 month belongs to. Any ideas?

Also, I am still trying to figure out John (aka Jonathan) and Sarah (Gansby)'s children. Something is not sitting right with me. Several of the children's vital records have him 20-30 yrs older than she was. I really want to get it right before I move on from this family to another.

Again, thank you so much for "straightening" me out. I have family in both cemeteries (Alice Hunt and Old Hall Stream). When the snow finally melts, maybe I'll go take another walk :-)

Mark - will you be creating a Find A Grave record for Ziba's wife or should I do that?

I noticed you left a stone photo on my cousin Polly's stone. Are you related to her or John?

Mark, thank you for the military gravestone photo for Tech. 5 (Cpl.) Newcomb. The stone showed that he had been promoted to Tech. 5 from PFC. I didn't have that information. Much appreciated.
