I have been involved in genealogy research since 1997. My efforts have mainly been concentrated in the north Georgia, east Tennessee, North and South Carolina and Virginia areas. |
I have enjoyed working with others to locate, among other sources, the resting place of their direct ancestors and other family members. As do census records, cemeteries can provide a treasure of information about family connections.
"Find A Grave" isn't a place to store genealogy records, but it is a repository for grave records. As a by-product, it has become a great tool for showing the direct line of families with the added plus of being the documented source of birth and death dates—provided there is the photo of the grave tombstone.
If you are a direct descendant of any memorial I have created, I will be happy to transfer the memorial to you. If you find an error in any of my contributions, please let me know. If I have made any mistakes, or you would like to have your family info added to their page, please contact me and I'll be happy to add it for you.
My surname interests includes: Allison, Baker, Bird, Brickey, Catlett, Caughron, Doherty, Drinkwater, Dunn, Dunwoody, Hanson, Hardin, James, Jones, Kelley, Long, Maples, McKinney, McSpadden, Monroe, Nunley, Potts, Selvidge, Stewart and Thatcher.
The surnames I research for my husband's family include: Banks, Childers, Davis, DeBoard, Donnally, Dunagan, Edwards, Holden, Jordan, Lowe, McIntyre, Mullinax, Mullins, Nelson, Peterson, Rackley, Watkins and Weaver.

Thank you for posting the pictures on find a grave. I have been researching my family in North Georgia. My great, great, great grandfather was Adolphus Green Mullins, Alfred's brother. This family and all of the families of the mountain counties of North Georgia were involved in a civil war within the greater civil war. The book "A Separate Civil War by Jonathan Dean Sarris". Kindle Edition gives a detailed picture of the war between the Tories and the Confederates. My GGG grand father, his brother James P and one of James' sons slipped out of Georgia to join the Union Army in Tenn. They eventually came back as members of the First Georgia Infantry (Union). Did you know that the family applied to the Dawes Committee to be recognized as Cherokee but were turned down.

Thank you for your efforts on this memorial.

Sorry about the problems. Go ahead and upload the two stones you found. I'm not surprised that the stone is worn down. What I am surprised about is thet any part of them are standing. Thank you for your efforts. It is much appreciated.

I am not related to the Watkins, I was just listing the New Hope Cemetery so I have no problem transferring Robert and Nancy L.Watkins over to you.

Have connected John Watkins to his parents as you asked--thank you! I do like to connect families where I can. And John was a VERY long way away from home...

Thank you for the message! I didn't set up the cemetery. In fact had a hard time finding it due to the way it was set up. I did find where to submit a change. I just did it. We'll see if they will change it. It's on some admin forum... here's what I gave them:
CORRECTION for Cemetery address: city is JASPER not TALKING ROCK
County Line Baptist Church aka County Line Cemetery (on findagrave)
Hwy. 53 West, Jasper, GA 30143
Thank you for updating!
Ps. I was saved and Baptized at County Line as a child. Chances are you know one, if not many, of my family members living around the area. Are you related to Wilburn Mullinax? Feel free to email me directly to chat or if you'd like to work together to get the cemetery fully documented. I need to make it up there to photograph the rest of the cemetery. firstname.lastname@example.org Thanks for the message!

Pam---I think that we have exchanged e-mail before, but you are a "cousin" to my wife. She descends from James Riley Long who gave the land for the cemetery. Thanks for your links on Millard; I have included them.
