Candy Priano, founder and executive director of PursuitSAFETY, a national nonprofit organization, is committed to saving lives—the lives of innocent bystanders and police officers. Candy shares many stories with officers and the public. She says, "I was helpless to save my daughter Kristie's life, but I believe her story will save the lives of others."|
Her presentations and articles cover the inherent risk of deaths of and injuries to innocent bystanders and police officers as a result of crashes due to police chases and police response calls.
Candy's research includes 10 years of analyzing thousands of deadly pursuit stories, and she is adept at identifying how the outcome of these chases could have ended in a safer way—without the death of an officer or innocent bystander. Candy credits her extensive knowledge to officers who share their expertise with her. She is well-versed with information found in government and law enforcement studies and reports.

Disregard the website question lol :-) sometimes I swear I'm going blind … I wrote it down and I'm going to bookmark it. :-)

First I'd like to express my deepest sympathy for your tragic loss. I wish there was something i could do to help ease your pain. I think it is wonderful that you are doing what you can to make sure another mother does not have to endure all you have. Your daughter looks so full of life in that photo and so very happy and I'm sure she was.
Many have lost their lives due to high speed chases and regardless of the reason for the chase it's not worth someone losing their life, ANYONE and especially someone whose life has just begun.
Again I am so very sorry for your loss. I was wondering if you had a website. I think these safety issues should be a national effort.
I have no doubt your daughter's smiling down on you from Heaven!

I hope you do not mind a stranger writing to you but I am touched by your loss. There is a lovely song "The Stranger from Galilee" I believe your daughter has met Him. He mends the broken hearts and makes them glad.

|Suzette Kinsey||Hi Candy|
It's been so long since I've seen you. I don't know if you remember me but I was one of Kristies friends when I was at Champion for 8th grade and she was in 7th. We had many slumber parties together at your house and at the Pierce's. Because I went over to PV for high school I didn't get to see Kristie to much after that. But I remember so vividly the day she left us. I had also just lost my uncle on the 5th so January was not a good month. I also remember that the day the Lord took her home it snowed in Chico.
After that day I went home and wrote a song for her and put it in her casket. A few years later I showed the song I wrote to Amber Pierce whom I've been friends with since we were 2, and she said I should show it to you someday. Well, I never knew how to contact you but with Kristie's anniversary coming up I looked around on google and found this webpage. So, I thought I'd say hi and let you know that Kristie and your family are always in my thoughts.
If you get this I'd like to leave my email so that maybe I could get in touch with you so I could send you a sound or video clip of the song. Anyways, I hope things are well and I hope that you are able to read this. Take care and just know that Kristie will never be forgotten.
