I am a wife, mother, and grandmother.|
My passions in life are my family, genealogy,
I started climbing my family tree when I was twelve, and haven't stopped yet!
I have enjoyed taking some "roots vacations" to
Illinois and Pennsylvania. Genealogy naturally leads you to the world of history. I enjoy American History very much.
Many of my ancestors came to America for religious reasons. I have traced them through
just about every war that America has taken part in.
"Turning Hearts" comes from the last verse in The Old Testament, Malachi 4: 6.
Findagrave.com is one of my very favorite websites.
QUOTES THAT I LIKE:
It is a second death after you are forgotten.
How many generations does it take, even in a close knit family, for the fabric to unravel....?
Albert Lewis, Jewish Rabbi
"And death hath come upon our fathers; nevertheless we know then, for a Book of Remembrance we have written among us, according to the pattern of God." Moses 6: 45-46
"It isn't the date on either end that counts
But how they used their dash
For that dash between the dates
Represent the time they spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved them know
What that little line is worth."
William Elliot Dudley
Those we love, don't go away
They walk beside us every day
Unseen, unheard, but always near
--Still loved, still missed and
WHAT CANCER CANNOT DO
Cancer is so limited..
It cannot cripple Love
It cannot shatter Hope
It cannot corrode Faith
It cannot destroy Peace
It cannot kill Friendship
It cannot suppress Memories
It cannot silence Courage
It cannot invade the Soul
It cannot steal Eternal Life
It cannot conquer the Spirit
Cancer is so limited!

The bio was from a family book. Can you provide a source on the marriage date so I can make a notation at the bottom of the bio? Thank you.
I also added his death date since someone added the headstone photo since the memorial was created. Thanks for your input. Every bit helps.

I am not finding a memorial for her. Do you have a memorial number?

I wasn't real happy with the picture so I went back and got another. Also got good pics of Elizabeth and Amanda, along with others on the same stone.

There are other, much older markers in that cemetery.

David John, Elijah's father, was married to Eliza DAVIES. There is a record of their marriage, which occurred in Maesteg,Wales on April 17, 1860.

You're very welcome and, yes indeed, it is a beautiful stone and quite well preserved for a 130 old marble stone. /Bill

I'm sorry, but it's wrong. I have the correct parents listed on his memorial. The grave marker photo I took was way back in the 80's, before Eleanor passed away. I don't think I'll make it back to NY state in the near future.
