AJ and Ellen were the parents of Lucretia Grace who married Martin Bagby. Their daughter Susan Elaine was married to my Great Uncle Harry, they divorced and she married George Mucachia. I was just scanning pictures of Susan and Lucretia Grace taken in San Diego about 1943-44

RE: Mary B. Lee
You're welcome! It is a shame you had to wait nearly two years for it. That cemetery has multiple problems for gravers: For one thing, the manager seems to always be on the lookout for such ridiculous things as "people gathering names of deceased to use for voter fraud" etc. He is a very nice man but very suspicious. That part of Compton is unfortunately riddled with crime, graffiti, vandalism, etc. so he does not allow anyone into the mausoleums unescorted, and he only allows photos of the person's crypt you come looking for. He does not allow you time to stand there and take a large section of photos. Which is really thwarting the efforts of local gravers to get that cemetery posted here on Find A Grave. Second, he has to look up the locations manually. Nothing is computerized. He started to try to do that a few years ago, but his system crashed without backup! So who knows if it will ever get done.

Just thought you might like to know why it took so long! Someone actually went in there with a huge long list of names and he was very displeased with Find A Grave. Now there are over 80 open photo requests.

I hope that any other requests you have don't take nearly this long. Good luck in finding more relatives!

RE: Mary Lee
One more thing Vicki, Mary might have been known by a family name in which she could be buried under give everything on names that you might think she might have gone by as well.

RE: Mary Lee
Yeah, I did a Google on the Cemetery and Wow you're right life at that time was nothing like the life Compton is now. I even Google Compton but nothing stating as to where he is buried at. He is not even in Find A Grave. Your G-Grandmother is a Pioneer of Compton and if she were alive today..she would say Tsk..Tsk what the heck happen to our Great City ~Compton?~

Mary Lee
Hi Vicki,
I will be slowly working on all request for the Angeles Abbey Memorial Park in Compton. I will not put a "Claim" for your Headstone photo request due to the fact at this cemetery they work it quiet differently it's going to take more then 2 weeks to get all setup for the photo, so I have to be careful. Working with the folks at this Cemetery will be a slow task but I will try my best to get it. But after all that is needed to get your photo then I will put in the claim. I promise I will not walk away from your request.

Ok, here's how this works: The office does not have computer access and those that are buried at this cemetery are not in their computer banks because they don't have computers inputted for those that are buried there; in order for them to find your request the one person which is the Office Manager Shantel has to go to another building and physically look at all the index cards to find the requested person. Her effort is vain. I had already asked if Mary Lee is buried there and they have stated it was a "No Find" Vicki if you are sure and have a Death Certificated stating that Mary is buried there. Call this Number (310) 631-1141 Shantel Office Manager she is very nice and is willing to work with you but she asks question that only you would know that I'm not able to answer. Get the location and also ask if the Mausoleum needs someone to open it (as they keep certain ones lock). Also if Shantel does not answer the phone she might have stepped away from the office..keep trying until you reach her. Also she takes lunch from 2:30-3:00p. If Shantel says she will call you back; keep track as she may not always return calls. Remember she is by herself in this one man office. Office hours 9a-3p M-F If you do not have a Death Certificate on Mary Lee; Shantel will suggest to get one first so here's the number to County Records (562) 426-2137. Let me know how it goes...I'll be waiting.........
