RE: Michael Metcalf
Hello Tom. Have at it. Before sending this reply, I reviewed, edited and added to Michael's sketch, the additions solely for clarification versus a change to my prior writing. Sometimes I feel over-explaining is necessary to prevent misinterpretations by persons unfamiliar with the problems involved with documenting ancestors who lived prior to the 1700s.

Regards

RE: Joseph Rainey
HI Tom,

I did some checking and Joseph Rainey was born June 14,1907 Indiana and died Oct 1977 Randolph co Indiana.

From checking records it looks like he is a son of

William and Mary Rainey who can be found in the 1930 census in Washington, Daviees county Indiana.

William T. Rainey born 1876
Mary Rainey born 1877 Ohio
Children.
William born 1904
Joseph 1907
Harold 1908
Hellena 1909
John 1912
Norbert 1915
Wilbur 1919
Paul 1920
Regina 1922

Also there is a William and Mary Rainey in Delaware co Indiana, buried at Beech Grove but the obits does not mention a Joseph Rainey.

Hope this helps some..

Have a Great Day
Dave

Hello,
I just wanted to let you know that he passed away.
This info. is from his obituary:
b 29 Sep 1921
d 04 Nov 2013
You had created a pre-need memorial for him.
Age 92, formerly of Trenton. Beloved husband of the late Ruth. Loving father of James (Barbi) and Shirley (Dale) Volkening. Dearest grandfather of six, great grandfather of three.
This is from The News Herald, 11-06-2013. This paper comes out on Wed., and Sunday only. www.TheNewsHerald.com. If you are unable to add his info., and would like to transfer him to me, I can do it. I am not related to him, that I am aware of, anyway. Take care.

Honoring our ancestors
RE: Big Pete Compeau
Sorry I don't

Big Pete Compeau
I have a picture of "Big Pete (Compeau)at Bloomdale Cem.
The marker is right next to a Maloch family and the stone material match these stones. Directly behind the "Big Pete" stone is a Compeau headstone. I assumed that Big Pete was connected to Maloch family. So I guess my question is do you have personal knowledge that "Big Pete" was a Compeau? I could send you the picture if you like.

John Kania, Bloomdale Cemetery, Wayne County, MI
I have done some photo enhancing to John Kania's headstone photo, and it looks to me like it says June 6, 1943 (or 1941), instead of June 6, 1911. If you get a chance could you double check the death date on this headstone. Thanks.

Crump Family
Tom, Thank you so much for transferring my great grandmother Mary Jane Crump and her son my grand uncle Leroy Crump to my care - I have updated their information online and would ask if you could also transfer my Grandfather NORVAL CRUMP #113537548 so that I can fill in all of his missing information too? Thank you once again for your kindness and consideration .... Jane

RE: Wilk
That would be very nice of you. The photos I took several years ago did not come out well. The photos on the memorial look better than what I have.
I do have all of the information for the people buried there. Several children (born, christened in Wyandotte) died as small children. A daughter-in-law is also on the stone. I live in Grosse Ile - a stones throw away so I have a lot on the family.
