|Ed Poulin||RE: Margaret & Crowell Simpson|
I think the 1788 date for Margaret comes from the History of Winslow which seems to have a lot of errors. I'm inclined to agree with you on Margaret and Huldah. I'll fix things.
|Ed Poulin||Margaret & Crowell Simpson|
You mentioned that Crowell Simpson was married twice. Do you know who his other wife was? As far as I have determined he married Catherine Davis on 1/2/1829 in Winslow ME and was living with her up until at least 1880. As he died in 1881 he would have had to divorce and remarry. Or maybe he married someone prior to Catherine? Let me know you thoughts.
Margaret Simpson's mother has always been unclear because of the 1783 vs 1788 dilemma. I Don't have any information for her which would clear this up. Do you? You can see how the 8 and 3 might be mixed up. My stuff on Winslow is deeply buried right now but my recollection is that Margaret's mother's name was not given so there's no help there. In any case, the 1790 census for Reuben suggests that he was living with two females. One was his wife while the other must have been his daughter Nancy so Margaret must have died young. I'll make a note for her in her bio.
