William W. Lewis
I'm wanting to know if you would have any family history. W.W.Lewis is my great great great grandfather. Amanda is my great great grandmother and her daughter Edith is my great grandmother.

RE: William Lewis
Hi Valerie, Thank you for writing, I'll try to lead you thru the maze! I created the memorial, but I didn't post the pictures, the names of the people who posted the photos to my memorial are listed under the photos. I got the info from an INGenWeb transcript. Here is the site: www.ingenweb.org, then when you get there, you'll see a county selection map, click on Delaware County, then I believe in blue type, it will say something like Click Here to View Records, the click on cemetery burial list. There will be all the alphabet letters there, then click on (L), then go down to Lewis, William, and you will see the info. I hope I have told you right, some of the sites are hard to get thru. You can look on his memorial and see the name of the person who posted his picture and click on their name and you can send them a message to ask where they got the photo or if they have any more info. I will be happy to transfer him over to you. Please let me know if you want a transfer. Have a good evening!

John Westley Melton
Thank you for putting the info about his mother's maiden name. I have been researching the Melton's in Rutherford Co for 2 different family trees, John Westley's son John Irvin married one of my great-great aunt's, Fannie Brannon, I have been filling in his tree.

A friend's tree is also descended from an Amanda Melton from the Rutherford County area who married a Tom Lyda & died about 1897. I guess she was born about 1865 guessing by her husband's age, I never found her on any census in Rutherford Co. She married after the 1880 census & died before the 1900 census. One daut's death cert says her name was Catherine, another says she was named Amanda. I have been trying for a long time to locate her on the 1870 census under either name, to no avail. I thought I'd found her once but that Amanda turned out to have married a different man, she survived past 1920. Amanda's family was Melungeon, according to a granddaut, but other than these facts I cannot find her anywhere.

I need to find someone who's an expert on the Melton family, I don't suppose you would know anyone?

Again, thanks for the info on FindAGrave.
