I live in Pearland, TX and I will take some picture requests but sometimes it may take me a while with my work schedule so please don't worry. If I claim yours I will get it ASAP. I copied the next bit of information from another site and found it to be some good help for the volunteers. Please read it and don't be offended but consider it a useful tool in the quest for finding your grave.|
Photo volunteers for this cemetery have found it difficult to obtain plot information from the cemetery office for more than a few graves at a time. Therefore, if you wish to request a photo of a grave marker in this cemetery, please first call the cemetery office to obtain the plot information and then add it your memorials before making the request. This will expedite the claiming and fulfilling of your photo requests as well as make the process far simpler for the volunteers.

In researchig my Great Grandfather, I found the record of a man named John Edward Morris who was stabbed to death in 1913. I believe this may be my ggrandfather thought I have no proof of his parentage. Since they were estranged at the time, that is not surprising. He would not give his parents names on his death certificate nor does the Cemetery records show any. I still believe this to be him and would like to have pictures of his grave.
He is buried in the Hollywood Cemetery in Houston Heights, TX, Lynwood Lawn lot 102 space 8. This lot belongs to the Kjerlff Family. His current wife at the time of his death, was Emma and she is buried next to him under the name of Emma Miller died 1971.
I marker was placed on his grave Aug 24, 1937.
His death will be 100 years ago this month.I have 2 newspaper articles regarding the stabbing.

I noticed I neglected to tell you what the BLUE BOOK was. The blue book refers to the survey of the cemetery done in the 1980s. It is part of two sets of records the parks department has on the cemetery that originate from before the city took over the maintenance of the cemetery. The blue book contains wharever info was found on the markers when that survey was done. Good luck with your search.

Where Im at I can't call long distance, but what I can remember it is marked and (on a hill I think.) I was just a kid when I was last there. Thanks for the response. This is the grave of my father who died when I was just 2 and half years old. Again thank you for your response, my email is email@example.com.

Your quite welcome!! Let me know if you have anyone else is the McCulloch Co. area!!
|KW||RE: Alton Smith / Ranual / Sybil|
Thanks very much for the photos of Sonny's (Alton's) and Ranual's headstones. I appreciate you getting out in the Texas heat to take the pics!
Regarding Sybil, it was correct to link her to Ranual. Sybil's maiden name was Brugier. The correct last name under which to list her is Loper. After Ranual died, Sybil married Wilburn Newmons on 20 Jan 1969, divorcing him on 14 Apr 1971. She then married Raymond L Loper on 18 Nov 1974. So, you just need to make a minor correction to her name and you'll have everything correct.
Thanks, again, Charlie, for your help. I appreciate your time and efforts!
