Our family roots
I believe we are related. Please contact me, Ray Jackson at There are some things that were apparently unknown on the Arbor side of the family. I have been researching this for quite sometime and finally found the connection. Thank you

John Thomas Carpenter

I was in the Loraine cemetery taking some photos and looked for your request...John Thomas Carpenter, b.1834, d. 1910.

The only marker I could find was as follows:

Thomas Carpenter
PVT 1 Texas Fields Army
Confederate States Army
Dec. 7, 1832 Feb 9, 1917

I have this photo saved, but I didn't post it to your request. Let me know if I can help any further.

RE: Mattie Anderson--Sunset Beasley Cemetery
Our family has been trying to figure out more about Mattie Anderson and her husband, John. They are the parents of my great grandmother, Pearl, and apparently both died when she was young, but we don't know any of the details. We have no dates for John, although the story is that he died before Mattie. And apparently, we have the wrong dates of birth and death for Mattie. We have birth as 21 March, 1870 and death as 7 August, 1899... but these don't match the dates on the gravestone that you so kindly photographed. I would love to know if there is a John Anderson anywhere near Mattie. Her family was living in Wise County, so I don't expect you to find her people, but perhaps there are other Andersons? Unfortunately, I don't know his parents names. Any information you can provide would be most appreciated--but don't get bitten by snakes! Nothing is worth that.

Mattie Anderson--Sunset Beasley Cemetery
Thank you for your cemetery genealogy work--thanks to you, I'm now able to see my gr. gr. grandmother's headstone, and to confirm that she was married to John Anderson. I have two questions that I'm hoping you might give me insight about: By any chance, is John Anderson's grave there as well? And the dates of birth and death on the tombstone don't match the information that is posted with your wonderful photos--was that information provided by someone else?

William Nutter
Thank you very much for the great photo of the Nutter tombstone. I'm putting in a request for tombstone photo for his wife. Could you please fulfill it with the same photo you used for his request? Thanks for your time and again for the great photo.
