Specializing in the family of 1717 |
Germanna Colonist Nicholas Yager (b. 1678 in Germany) over a 20-year-period, I have been blessed with the input of countless kind Yeager relatives from all over the country, such as the late Carroll Yeager Thomas and Jane Warren Waller. With their help my first private publication in 1994 was about my ggf: "The Family of Daniel Wayne Yeager, 1835-1910." In 2002 my work on identifying John Yager and his wife Ann Render, Daniel's grandparents, was published in John Blankenbaker's respected journal "Beyond Germanna." The following year I was asked to make a presentation on "Yagers Named John" at the Germanna Memorial Foundation annual reunion. In 2004 after more extensive research in Virginia courthouses, libraries and most especially the amazing Library of Virginia, I presented the book "Following John: Documenting the Identity and Path of John Yager, born 25 Nov 1750, in Culpeper County, Virginia." In 2010, I assisted Cathi Clore Frost in her research for Germanna Record #19: "The Yager Family, the First Five Generations," and wrote the Introduction for that extremely informative tome! (Thanks to Cathi and the Foundation!) In 2011-2012 the Germanna Research Group in its online "Journal" presented a 2-part article entitled "Follow the Money, Honey," at
www.germannacolonies.org/GRGJournal. To find this, click on the November 2011 and April 2012 issues. (Thanks to Virginia Rhodes Nuta, Suzanne Matson, and Michael Oddenino, esp. to Ginnie who made me do it!) Over the years I have also been list administrator for the Rootsweb mailing list YEAGER-SOUTH-US. My most recent project is adding the photos and information researched by Claudia Yeager Cowley on Texas Yeagers to findagrave.com.
Most especially, thanks to C.Y. Thomas (who made me follow John) and always signed off,

Hi, Betty, I am happy to make the transfers to you. I am so distantly related that I have very little information on them and would much rather someone manage the memorials that can care for them properly. Let me know of others you have interest in. Thank you for your work.
