Question
Hi Lori,

I just found your posting on the memorial for Aaron Henry in the Union Cemetery, Weissport. I have his mother listed as Catherine (nee) Rough Henry. I have a short biography for him - if you'd like it, please let me know.

Best wishes,

Joe

RE: Ella J. Gruber Frankenfield
Hey Lori,
The information was from some time ago so I'm not totally sure. However, some of it may have come from Bates County, Missouri, Cemetery Records, Vol. 1-4, 5 (Part 1), 6 (Parts 1 & 2), 7, 8 (Parts 1-3). There was someone who was doing research on their Warren family line and transcribed several of the cemeteries in the Bates area and researched death certificates and such. Can't remember the name though.
Wish I could be of more help!
Jaime

RE: Valentine Armbruster
Hi Lori,

You forgot "mea maxima culpa". You're welcome! The Valentine Armbruster buried in Evergreen is in a plot owned by Fidel Armbruster. I don't know the relationship between this person and Valentine Sr., but perhaps he, too, is hanging from your Tree.

Best wishes,

Joe

RE: Valentine Armbruster
Hi Lori,

Valentine Sr., the Civil War Vet,is buried in St. Joe's. Valentine, who served during the Spanish American War, is in Evergreen.

Records at the Evergreen and this obit found in the Morning Call for 1901 support this:

Valentine Armbruster, of East Mauch Chunk, died at 7:30 o'clock Saturday morning of pneumonia after an illness of about one week. Mr. Armbruster was born July 6, 1826 in Baden Germany, and was over 74 years old. He came to the United States in 1846 and located in Mauch Chunk. He was a canal boatman on the Lehigh canal until the commencement of the war. He enlisted in Company A, 54th Pennsylvania Volunteers. In 1864 he re-enlisted in Company I, Seventy-fifth Pennsylvania Volunteers, serving until the close of the war. His army record is very good. After the war he found employment in the Packerton shop and continued there in the capacity of a carpenter ever since. He is survived by his aged widow and these children; Bartlett Armbruster, of Philadelphia; Mrs. Joseph Moyer, Charles Armbruster, Mrs. H. L. Reihman, Mrs. Charles Collins, of East Mauch Chunk; sister Martha, of St. Vincent's Orphans Home, St. Louis, Mo., and Fred Armbruster, Packerton. The funeral will be held to-day at 10 o'clock. Requiem high mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment in the German Catholic Cemetery.

Best wishes,

Joe

RE: Juliann Barnhart DeWire
She is buried next to Alexander DeWire who must be her son (I checked census records). I asked the person who posted the memorial for Alexander to link him with his mother. You might want to ask him to transfer the memorial to you.
