NOTE: I go out Sunday mornings to take photos for you. :-)|
Be sure to visit my precious Bucky. Her sister Lucy and I created a memorial for her. She is missed and loved daily. Update: On June 26, 2012 Lucy decided at 19.3 yo to join her sister. I'll be adding a memorial for her soon. My girls lived long, good lives and I was so blessed! You can visit Lucy now.
I've just started researching my family. At 46 yo I've been estranged from them since I was about 12 years old.
I have never known my biological mother's paternal side - so my research has been to find him. On June 14, 2011 2.43pm I finally did!
My mission? To find my paternal cousins that are living.
I'm engrossed and determined to learn all I can about the family I wish I would have known.
My research includes: Vess/Little, Little/Fields, Little/Broyles, Fields/Bareuls, Little/Kelly-Killey, Broyles/Calvert, Fields/Phelps, Little Carr, Killey/Hammer, Killey/Matherly, Hammer, Kaup, Phelps, Toms (tomes), Newby/Hunnicutt, Toms/Bogue, Hunnicutt/Wyke, Vess/Hyatt, Vess/Bellew (ballew), Hyatt/Nelson, Hyatt/Wikle,
Neslon/Colvard, Colvard/Holland, Hyatt/Parker, Hyatt/Gaither, Hyatt/Davis, Hyatt/Tewksbury, Hyatt/Preston, Hyatt/Russell, Hoyt-Hyatt/Stowers,
Hoyt/Bonin, Vess/Miller, Miller/Griffin, Griffin/Flannigan.
I know the feeling of seeing gravestones of family members. With just a few requests and having people claim and fulfill them - well words can't really describe the feeling. There's comfort in it for me as I'm sure there is and will be for you.
The joy brought to me by others' contributions - I hope I can pass that on to you.

Hi, Michelle! Am I right in assuming that you descend from Andrew Jackson and Mary Davis Vess? If so, I have some information that I will happily share with you. My husband descends from Mary's brother Francis in Haywood County, North Carolina where Mary grew up. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org. I love the photos of them that you have posted on their memorials! I have never seen one before.

Hummm, the name certainly sounds familiar! Cuz!

I think you're right. She is listed as McClary in 1930. Thanks for the info. Jo

I just wondered if Virginia was Helen child since she was the only one married. Virginia could be a child of one of the daughters not listed on the 1930 census.. Virginia is listed as Wm Sherman's grand-daughter so I know one of Wm Sherman's daughter is her mother. Jo

If Virginia McClary was Helen child I guess she was married to a McClary before Hanson. I am not for sure. I am still looking for proof. Will let you know if I find any. Who did Wm Sherman Jr marry? your grandfather was a 2nd cousin 2x removed, so does that mean we are 4th cousins 4x removed? I get confused! I downloaded the 1930 census off ancestry.com but thanks.Jo West Stallbohm

Is Virginia MCCLary on the 1930 Census, granddaughter of Wm Sherman Vess, the daughter of Helen O Vess? Wm Sherman Vess was my 1st cousin 3x removed. Do you know how to remove flowers? Somehow I added two. Thanks

Sorry it took me so long to do this I just realized I had messages. I transferred ownership to you too
|Gene Phillips||James Albert Vess Photo Request|
I am fulfilling the request shortly. However, he is listed in the wrong cemetery. I will contact the manager of the memorial to move her to the correct cemetery. He is buried in Mt Pisgah Pentacostal cemetery next to his wife.
I already have a memorial in the correct cemetery, but I will delete mine when she moves this one.

Thank you for the transfer. I updated his memorial. I have obituaries for Martin & Clara, please let me know if you would like copies.
