Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am in my early 70's and have lived in Akron, OH all my life. I recently started to research my branch of the Ecker tree and discovered my grandfather is buried in Spring Grove in Medina, OH. He was the 3rd Emanuel in our family. I am Emanuel V, my son is Emanuel VI and my grandson is Emanuel VII. I know that my grandfather's father, Emanuel Ecker, Jr., was a civil war veteran. I accidentally found the Find A Grave web site recently and found that there were already memorial pages for several of my Ecker relatives in PA. I find it quite exciting to be able to find my "missing" relatives and to be able to possibly help others do the same.

RE: Abshire
I see the names now...Humm do you think that means maybe that they were cremated and their ashes maybe be buried here? Is there still an active office at Ellet that I could contact that you know of?

RE: Abshire
Yes, these are important. If you could try and resend the photos individually my email is Are they actual grave markers? If so, I could add them to the cemetery and you could put the photos there if you are not able to email. Thanks again for getting these pictures! I am in Texas and don't often get back to Ohio anymore. My mother and I are planning a family history trip that hopefully we can take in the fall. If I do make it up that way I'd love to take you for lunch! My dad was born in Akron and I had an Aunt Grace that I visited frequently in Kent when I was young. I was born in Columbus and lived there until my husband and I moved to to Texas. I sure would like to hear about your life in Akron. My dad's family is virtually unknown to me because his father died in WWII and his mother died in a car accident when my dad was only 17 yrs old. Jack (whose headstone you photographed) was my dad's uncle. Mandy was Jack's second wife. My dad's dad was William Fredrick Abshire, who died in WWII and his parents were George and Grace and they lived at 1419 Bellows Street most of their lives in Akron. Years ago I drove by this house. Grace, George and William F Abshire are buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery which I've visited and took photos. Dorothy Abshire William Fredrick's wife is buried in Standing Rock Cemtery I think but I have no proof of this. Well I've probably told you way more than you want to know. Again, thank you!

I added the pictures I had for E.Akron. Please feel free to go take the others? The other two Witwer's listed, as in crypts back in the mausoluem's. I don't see myself getting back there over the next few weeks.

Have a great day!

RE: Jaynes
Thank you so much for the picture of David's stone! I am very interested in the picture you have of Arlene's stone as she was my cousin. I checked and there is a photo request there for her stone if you want to post the picture through that so you get credit for the volunteer photo. I really appreciate your time and effort in getting these for me!

I have all the E.Akron pictures. Just a heads up because of my expiration. They are being posted today. Just went yesterday.

Copy and pasting the email I just left for the person who put in the Witwer request. I was just at E.Akron yesterday. I just hadn't put a claim in for the graves.

I see someone claimed these but I already checked for these. East Akron Emma and Abraham are in the Masoluem. I was going to take theirs next week but someone claimed it. I have Cyrus, Ida and Bertha(16yrs old). They are together. I am posting these today. I have Guy and RC. buried right next to each other. Sarah and John appear not to be marked. My husband and I walked the whole area.

Just a heads up.
