The people that we have added are either in our family Cemeteries, in our family tree books or someone who has touched our family's lives very personally. We don't just go through the paper and add people to get our numbes up.|
Our family has always loved finding long lost family members. We are starting to loose our older generation with the sharp family memories fast. This is why we are working together as a team to get updates done quickly,before they are all gone.
Why are there multiple memorials for the same individual? How does Find A Grave handle duplicate memorials?
Because so many people add data to Find A Grave, there are often duplicate cemeteries and duplicate memorials added. This is a very common situation and is quite difficult to resolve in a way that keeps everyone happy.
Before adding a memorial, search the cemetery to see if a record with that name has already been added.
This is what we follow. We go to the CEMETERY FIRST add the first three letters check to see if a memorial is added. If no memorial we add only the name, than click any other in cemetery, still if there is no duplicate we finish the memorial. If another is there we delete ours and if related ask for a transfer. We are not after to get our numbers high. We add people if there are related,good friends of the family or someone who has touched our life deeply.

Is what happened, the reason his was not there the night before, when you created yours, but his was the next day. That is changing names & dates and then placing in correct cemetery so therefore it appears as his was created first.

This is my great-great grandfather. Calvin & Christena Crouse, their son, Henry & wife, Mary Catherine Hoylman Crouse, and granddaughter, Christena Crouse Hart, and her two sons, Clifford & Francis Hart, are all buried at Oaklawn Cemetery, Cainsville, Mercer Co, MO as are many more Crouse's. Christena Crouse Hart is my grandmother. I grew up in Mercer Co. I have a lot of information on their large family.

I have a copy of a program from when Addie Crouse Carroll was named 1956 IL Mother of the Year. It states that Addie Belle married Samuel O Kepley at age 20. He has been her 8th grade teacher and she had been taking care of an invalid mother and four younger children. Left a widow with 3 young children in1903, she lived on a small farm that she purchased with insurance. The oldest daughter outlived her father 6 wks. In Nov 1906, Mrs. Kepley became the wife of Rev E T Carroll, a widower with 5 children- Frank, Ella, Gladys, Stanley & May. Five more children came to the Carroll family. At times there were 15 persons in the household-parents, 12 children & Rev Carroll's mother.
The Rev Carroll passed away in 1933. Mrs Carroll and the two youngest sons moved to Greenville where the family had purchased a home. Here she began a business of earning a living and making a home for her children by doing practical nursing. Later she took care of new babies and their mothers. This she still does with a waiting list thru Aug.
The 11 living children say "We are all one big family. There are no steps and halves. 10 children attended college-5 completed. Ella, Gladys & May have been teachers. Leona still teaches. Others are as follows: Frank, retired major general USAF, Ben, newpaper editor, Paul, advertising manager, Robert & Stanley in the aircraft industry, Don, farmer, Helen, ex-secretary and home maker. Vincent, deceased, was a Greenville business man.
I haven't found where she was buried. Ray Harold Bryant said she died 22 Mar 1973.
I have been working on the Crouse family for over 30 years and have a great deal of information. I helped put together a 100th anniversary reunion of "A Notable Gathering" the 1996 reunion.
|Norma Sollman||RE: Jerry Ray McHenry|
This is the Jerry I am looking for. I was wondering if you had death and burial information for him.
|Norma Sollman||Jerry McHenry info|
I am descended from the Martin & Susannah Crouse family. My ancestor was one of their 9 Union sons, Calvin, brother of Benjamin, whose daughter was Addie Bell Crouse Carroll, mother of Lucinda Crouse Bryant. I see in Dorothea Bryant McHenry's obituary that her son, Jerry, was deceased. I was wondering if you have any information on Jerry. I have found a couple Jerry McHenry but am not sure they are the correct person.
Would you be willing to transfer Agnes Hoch #123718145 & Clem Hoch #123718186 to me? They are my husband's grandparents. Are you related to them?
