I am an avid intermediate genealogist. On my mother's side, I am descended of the Lilly/Meadows families of southern West Virginia, and the Osborne/Freeman/Blankenbeckler/St. John lines of southwestern Virginia. On my father's side, the Tredway/Burgess/Dooley/Poff families of southern West Virginia and the Gunter/Thornhill lines of Roanoke and Blacksburg, VA. My grandfather (a Gunter at birth) adopted the name "Crum" from his stepfather, so I have little history related to the Crum surname.
I am happy to accommodate anyone who needs a picture of a marker in Fluvanna County, Virginia.

 | RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 77584622 Hello Frank
I gladly added Osborne to Sarah and also linked she and her husband which I should have done when I was entering. Have a wonderful Christmas. | | | historianne

 | RE: Mary Macil (Meadows) Lilly Hi Frank! My sincere appreciation for providing the data re. Mary .. so sorry that it took me so long to "get to it" - We "down-sized" last year, was without a computer for quite a while (due to moving, reconnecting, etc.), and I sure did get "way-way-behind"!!; currently share the computer with daughter (her work) so don't get as much time on it as I would like .. Again, my apology for "being soooo late"! .. Della | | | George W. Anderson
 | RE: Nellie C. Thornhill You are welcome. This one was a bit of a challenge. | | | George W. Anderson

 | Nellie Barnett Thornhill Frank, I went to Fairview Cemetery in Roanoke today and the only Grave for a Nellie Thornhill they had on record was for Nellie C. Thornhill who passed away in 1947. She was born sometime in the 1870's. I have a few pictures of her stone and will send it to you a little later today. I am not totally sure this is the person you wish to locate. George. | | | George W. Anderson
 | RE: Odell F Thornhill You are most welcome. Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens are 2 miles from my work place. Gives me something to do at lunch instead of consuming more calories. | | | rc90

 | RE: Montgomery (Old Simpson) Cemetery I have been in contact with your cousin, David Meadows.
I didn't receive your photo request for whatever reason. Anyway, when I put up the records on findagrave, I didn't know how to establish links back and forth, and I am taking care of that now. Hopefully, I'll have that taken care of within the next day or so. Also, I am adding photos, if I have them.
According to the late Roy Edward Akers, s/o Andrew Arthur Akers and Corda Ethel (Meadows) Akers, Anthony F. Meadows and Mary "Polly" (Shumate) Meadows are buried in unmarked graves in Montgomery Cemetery, formerly Old Simpson Cemetery on Zion Mountain near Bellepoint. This is over at Hinton, Summers Co., WV. I never did get to go over there, as Roy died within the year after our first contact with each other. Sometimes, family members go back later and add a tombstone, but I am not aware if that has been done for Anthony and Polly.
My database at RootsWeb is http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=dapajones , plus I have other Meadows info offline. If I can assist, don't hesitate to get in touch with me at dapajones@att.net.
Best Regards!
