|My father was descended from the pioneer families of the Crab Orchard (Elkhorn)/Rock Falls/Red Brush School area of Ray Co., MO. I have multiple connections to the O'Dell and Tarwater lines, among others. I don't live in Ray Co., but still visit several times a year.|
I'm all for preserving headstones (I transcribed all of the stones at O'Dell Cemetery in Ray County several years back), but more important to me is preserving the histories of the people themselves. I'm interested in all surnames at O'Dell - the main ones are O'Dell, McAfee, McKissack, Brown, Roe, Riggs, and Woods. I'm also interested in the Whitton, Slover, Clark, Hall, Harris, Clevenger, and Tarwater lines...and, well, pretty much any and all of the old families of the area.
On my maternal side, I'm descended from the Shepard, Harold, Briscoe, and Hays families of Saline County, MO.

Thank you for placing flowers for my oldest sister. May God bless you.
From Cheryl Lee Champion (Mcafee)
It is very strange, like they just disappeared. I did find my Father on the 1930 census, (I think it was that one) anyway he lived as a boarder in Idaho. Roberts family I think I found in Lubbock Texas. Interesting that my grandfather was divorced. I know Florence passed away early. Recently I found out my father was married twice prior to my mother, both ended in divorce. Question, say I believe I found Robert's family in Texas. I'm apprehensive about contacting them, would you write and mail it? That way if they wanted to stay "disappeared" it wouldn't be as threatening as a phone call? I've thought about this for many years.....

Hi Cheryl! Unfortunately I don't know. I met him twice only when I was very little. He lived in Hemet California at the time, but later records show he lived and passed away in Long Beach California. I keep hitting road blocks in my sporadic searching. Strange, they even disappeared in one of the census records. Perhaps they weren't home when the census workers came by? Years ago I found a Patricia who was my father's brother's sons daughter, but I moved, and lost contact with her. She was searching for info on our grandfather. I wish I could find her again. I sent a photo of me and my grandfather which she showed to her Dad, who verified that was his grandfather! I really would like to talk to him! (Sorry to ramble on) If you find anything let me know. Hope you are well, and take care! Robin

Cheryl = It fits perfectly. Nancy was born in Lincoln County, KY 24 October 1804 and died 12 November 1842. She was the daughter of Phillip Tucker and Elizabeth Collier, who don't have memorials because they were buried in a family graveyard that hasn't survived. Nancy is listed as Nancy Hawke Smith in the settlemet of her father's estate.
Euphemia is the name of the first child of one of Euphemia's sisters. I have her listed as Frances [a very uncommon name for this family] when she married William Hockensmith on 19 February 1844 in Garrard County. From the numbers you sent she was born 10 January 1806 and died 28 March 1847.
Euphemia's paremts were Solomon Collier Find A Grave #97104292 and Mary #99211321. They had eleven kids that I know of and most are buried in the Old Paint Lick Cemetery. They were married in Lincoln County 3 March 1805 and I had their first child as Whitley born 31 October 1807. There's room there for Euphemia to be the first.
Can you have Euphemia connected to her parents and husband and the proper dates added to her memorial. One of Nancy's son is #53300997.
Thanks for your help. Wilda
