I live on the shores of Lake Erie in Erie, Pennsylvania and, like my father before me, I enjoy doing genealogical research. |
I have added memorial entries and photos of people and headstones with the hope that other researchers who have come to an inpass or may not be able to travel to their loved ones' final resting place may be helped. Photos on Find a Grave should never be used without permission, and the source should always be credited. I ask that if you copy the photo(s) posted on a MEMORIAL it be for personal use only. Please state the source of the photo. Simply reference that it is a photo posted on "FAG by Wendy Vogt Szallay and give the date." Thank you

Hi! I was in Florida two weeks ago looking for my grandfather because I had gotten no where over the phone. I have the death certificate and the obituary; however, the funeral home "says" they have no record of him and neither do the cemeteries. While I was at the funeral home and one of the cemeteries they did not even look up the name for me. Guy at the cemetery just looked on "Find A Grave" - had card catalog drawers sitting there but didn't look in them. I even went to the court house and asked in the records department. They said that they had nothing. Is this common in Florida? I have not had any issues like this in the Midwest. Was wondering what the laws are in Florida for keeping records. Any assistance you could give me would be appreciated. Thank you, Cook

Hi! I checked with Cedar Dale Cemetery again today and there is still not a headstone for Gerry at this time. Cook

Thank you for the family history you sent on Christine "Barbara" Barth. I see your maiden name is Vogt...that means we are related! I married a Barth here in Seward County and now my married name is...Barbara Barth! Almost a little creepy to go to the cemetery and take a photo of that stone :-)
Anyway, I've added your info to the memorial and given you credit. Thanks again Wendy!

Sorry, the memorial number above must be incorrect. I tried it twice and it comes back saying that it cannot be found. That is why it is best to send corrections via the EDIT Tab on each memorial. We get an email from findagrave with a link to click on instead of having to enter the memorial number. The email has all the information on it that you like added or changed.
If you would like a transfer of these memorials, please advise (via the Edit Tab). I don't stick to the transfer guidelines of findagrave. Any requests for transfers outside the guidelines, I do on a case by case basis.
