Wilcox Cemetery
Hi! Great pictures and really nice write up on this little cemetery.
I have some info that I hope you will add to it:
The Township Supervisor is Jim Isley (2012), his family has taken care of this little cemetery for years.
We (Crazy Cemetery Ladies of Lenawee County) are about to upload photos of the head stones soon.
This little cemetery is also known by Union Society Cemetery. Isaac Wilcox (who is buried in here) was the Trustee who did the transaction back in 1839 (we have a copy of the deed from the court house) to have the cemetery deeded over to the Union Society. Mr Wilcox was the Township supervisor as well.
The current owner is Palmyra Twp.
The last burial was Richard Cousino June 28, 1936
The 1st (recorded) burial was Lindon Burr Sept 15, 1836. (Almost 100 yrs later.)
Thank you for all your work!!!
