Spamers in Green-Wood Cemetery Brooklyn NY
There seems to be some problem with the lone Spamer listed in lot 31394. The name (Frederick) and burial date (10/30/1904) match exactly another Frederick Spamer buried in section 188, lot 31840. I've contacted the cemetery for clarification.
Meanwhile, do these Spamer given names ring any bells: Henry and Katherine (who appear to be Frederick's parents), and Frank (brother)? They're all together in 31840.

RE: Wills
You're welcome, Maureen. Woodland Cemetery is in the process of being restored, it's been a pleasure prowling around it. More and more stones are being discovered under weeds and ivy every week.

Funke/Wills photo requests
Hi Maureen. I found a few of your Funke/Wills photo requests in Woodland Cemetery in Staten Island. There's a little mystery regarding your Marie Funke Wills photo request, Memorial# 5541162.

In the Funke/Wills plot I found a "Marie E Wills" with years of birth and death as "1865 - 1842". (That's what the stone reads, it's obviously an error ). She's buried with Alexander E 1861 - 1942, the stone can be seen on his memorial # 5541160.

I reckon that if the stone cutter was so careless with the date, he might also have mistakenly cut an "E" instead of an "F", and this is the Marie Funke Wills you're looking for? Let me know if you think this might be the case, I'll be happy to upload the picture. I also found a Frederick A Funke 1835 - 1895 and his wife Marie E Funke 1831 - 1897 on a rather larger monument in the same plot. I also have the inscriptions to all the stones, if they're hard to read off the photos. Thanks, Rob Foran.
