Bio and Links
Bio Photo Born Rachel Elizabeth Kline Mann (Haynes-Adpt) . I started researching my multiple families in the mid 1960's. I try not to duplicate Memorials by adding friends or family members before checking for an existing. I only have family and close friends on my Find A Grave Contributor page. If I ask that a Memorial be transferred to me it will be a close friend or a family member. Immediate family is from Rhea, Cumberland, McMinn, Bledsoe, Hamilton Counties in Tennessee, California, Texas, Oklahoma and Duvall County, Jacksonville, Port Orange and New Smyrna, Volusia County, Florida. My home for over 40 years is Walker County, Georgia. With family in Walker, Catoosa, Dade, Floyd and Chattooga Counties in North Georgia. Family names; Mann, Jennings, Godsey, Haynes, Kline, Vick, McJunkin, Dyer, Huff, Morgan, Giles, Scarborough(Scarbrough), VanWinkle, Blaylock, Creason, Simmons, Millsaps, Burdett, Burdette, Blevins, Southern and Swallows.

Thank you to everyone who leaves tokens of remembrance for my memorials overall, especially my loved ones.

We are the chosen. In each family, there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts, but instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the storytellers of the tribe.

The Rainbow Bridge Poem

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When our beloved pets die, they journey to this idyllic spot. There are meadows and hills enough for all to frolic freely, and plenty of food, water and sunshine. Each and every animal is warm and comfortable.

Those pets who have been ill or aged are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong. Each is just as we remember in our dreams of days and times gone by. Our pets are happy and content at Rainbow Bridge, except for one small thing. Every creature misses someone special whom they've left behind.

The animals all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops, and looks into the distance. His or her bright eyes are intent; an eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he or she begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, legs going faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and you and your special friend come together in joyous reunion. Happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head; and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

Andrew Van Winkle FAG# 36361895
Beth,

Over the weekend, while I was photographing at Oakwood Memorial, I resolved the issue of where Andrew Van Winkle is actually buried - Pioneer Memorial or Oakwood. Originally, he was buried in Pioneer but in the 1950s, Pioneer Memorial was flooded out. Many burials were relocated to Oakwood Memorial including Mr. and Mrs. Van Winkle. He and his wife Amanda have been buried in Oakwood since the 1950s.

Hi Beth,

Please make your suggested changes through the "edit" tab on her memorial and I will approve the changes. It's easier and I can't typo that way.

Thanks.

I too received that message from Joy. I will not contact her. I do not know this person and am afraid I will get spam or a virus from this person who seems to be hitting a lot of us find a grave people.
