I am currently researching my husband's family: Calvert, which is primarily in the Collin and Denton County area of Texas. A lot of Calvert's (direct relation to my husband) are buried at Little Elm Cem in Little Elm Tx.

I am also seeking information on both sides of my father's family. My Grandfather, Grandmother and an Uncle killed at 16 are buried at Little Elm Cemetery also.
Standridge, which consists primarily in the Petrolia, Wichita Falls area, and his mother's maiden name on Loucks also in the same area.

I appreciate any help that anyone may have to offer.

William Samuel (Bill) Standridge
I am hoping that you would help me with some Standridge information concerning William Samuel Standridge (or Samuel William Standridge). I am searching for my paternal grandmother, thought to be Lillie Phillips Standridge who lived in the Potter County, Texas area, probably in the 1915-1925 time frame. In notes posted by Nancy Jane she stated that William Samuel (Bill) Standridge married a Myrtle Summers on 8 March 1912 in Potter County. Do you have any idea how long Bill's marriage lasted with Myrtle? I am trying to connect my grandmother, Lillie Phillips Standridge, to a Standridge. I have a marriage record where "W. S. Standridge married Lillie Phillips on 21 May 1921 in Garza County, Texas". Do you think this "W. S. Standridge" could be William Samuel Standridge, supposing that he either divorced Myrtle or Myrtle died?

I have taken Y-DNA 111 tests that establish that I am a "Phillips". However, my half first cousins may have Standridge DNA.

Any help that you can provide on this matter would be greatly appreciated. I have also written an email to Nancy Jane.

Thank you,

Robert Hugh Boyd (Not related to C.N. Boyd but knew him well and have his books)

RE: John Henry Loucks
Sorry, I don't have any information on his mother. He was married to my mother's cousin, Nancy Mae Owen and that is all I know.

RE: Lydia Cagle/ Howard Standridge
I have been doing the Standridge family from 1997 and still trying to make sure our info is correct. Howard is my gr gr grandmother's brother. My gr gr grandmother was Lydia Margaret Standridge Cagle. My cagle line is off of three of the Standridge brothers. I worked with Judy Tate on the Newton County site. there are so many name's that are related in Newton County, and lots of them moved to Eufaula Oklahoma . Is Shirlida the correct spelling of her name??. NancyJane Mathews Balmer. (put Standridge in the heading so I will know its family. NancyJane

RE: Lydia Cagle/ Howard Standridge
I have been doing the family from 1997 till now and I have worked on the Standridge. Howard Samuel Standridge was kind of a scoundral. he was married three times. 1st to Malinda Sue (Linda) Cavin on the and had nine children with her from the 18 February 1883 in Newton County AR. Howard then married to Serilda/Zuieldah Young on the 08 January 1893 in Pope County, Arkansas they had two children. William Samuel (Bill) Standridge born on 17 February 1895 Richland, Newton, Arkansas & died 25 May 1961 , Collin, Texas. (he married to a Myrtle Summers on the 08 March 1912 at Potter, Texas. Howard and Serilda also had one daughter name unknown?? Howard then married to Mary Humphrey on the 05 April 1901 Pope, Arkansas.
They had nine children. The children from the 1st marriage were from the years of 1885 to 1908 second marriage only two year were 1896 & 1896) 3rd marriage 1901 to 1919. Howard was a kind of a scoundral. If you look at the children from the 1st marriage and the 3rd marriage he kind of went back and forth between wives. he also made moon shine and drank alot. This Standridge family were Cherokee for the mother. That is why there was so much intermarriage's. My father started me on the family tree in 1997 he wish was to find the Indian in the family because famiy members made fun of my gr grandmother because she would tell them that her mother was cherokee.
