Additional information and corrections are very welcome. Feel free to use my headstone photos too.|
If anyone wants to take over the management of their family's memorial from me, just ask; don't be shy. As long as you're related to the deceased, that's good enough for me. Please remember to include your Find A Grave ID number when requesting the transfer.
Please do not post complete obituaries on my memorials (too many problems with people's privacy and copyright infringement). Paraphrasing the main points from an obituary is great, and I'm happy to add that if you forward it to me using the Edit tab.
From the Amador Ledger (Calif.), November 2, 1900:
THE TRANSLATION. On the gate of the cemetery in Rio de Janeiro is a notice in Spanish, French, and English that no dogs are admitted unless led by the owner. This is how the announcement is made in English: "Noble mesdames and gentlemen who may desire a dog to follow in this tombsyard will be permission unless him drawn by a cable round him throttle."

Thanks, my email address is email@example.com
Do you happen to know the antique store name? I have cousins
that live in Roseville Ca. I moved to Arizona a few years ago health reasons. My family history is in Placer County, Roseville, Colfax. I am building my family tree in Ancestry.

My reply bounced back. Your message to me was:
Excuse me, but this memorial duplicates # 39873224 which was created in July 2009. Please consider deleting yours. The other memorial could use the nice headstone photo you took, though...
help yourself to the photo and let me know after you do and I'll delete the duplicate.
She is close to my nephew's stone. I try to check before posting, but apparently goofed this time. Thanks for the heads up

Kathy, thank you so much for taking the time to get with the cemetery office and confirm Jeffery has an unmarked grave. I greatly appreciate your time and effort to help with this!

I'll keep that in mind! I almost posted a photo of one of the obits, but I don't like it when people do it on mine without asking and I saw your personal page you don't like it either. The bio your wrote for him was very nice. I sent both because I thought it was interesting that one mentioned he was a blacksmith; he probably did the same job when he worked at the mine. They employed a lot of blacksmiths there.
Thanks for your good works, Kathie!
|Veronica Jordan||John C. Harry|
By the way, the obits I sent were no longer bound by copyright laws.

Glad to be of help. I do genealogy research on New Almaden mining families, mostly the Spanish surname ones, but some Cornish. The Harry family was very important in New Almaden mine history.

I have added the wedding announcement you transcribed. I like personalizing memorials. Thanks so much for sending it..
