I am an architect living in Ohio with a teenaged daughter and many pets. I have a leaning towards things sustainable and environmentally responsible. |
I discovered a passion for family history in my late thirties, and now several years later am active in researching and saving genealogical and historical information related to all of my family lines. My feeling is that posting old family photos and information online will not only help my distant relatives to find their roots just as I've so enjoyed finding mine, but also preserve the images that might otherwise be lost forever. The more people who have a photo, the longer that photo and the person in it stay relevant. The genealogy community needs all of its members to make this process work and to make the information available!
Thank you to all the people who have been instrumental in making this website so valuable a resource.

|Art Burch||Robert H. Arden on find-a-grave|
I just saw your posting on find-a-grave for your G-Grandfather, Robert Hickory ARDEN. Do you happen to have further information regarding Robert and his family??
I ask, because I've been researching my BURCH ancestry for many years, and my research has brought me to the Goodwine Cemetery in Warren Co., Indiana.
My Grandfather was Enoch Arden BURCH, born 3/11/1867 in Illinois (per his Death Certificate). My research indicates that he was related to several BURCH's, also buried in the Goodwine Cemetery. Due to the fact that my grandfather's name was ARDEN, and several BURCH's are all buried in Goodwine Cemetery, I suspect that we might have a family connection??
I would like to discuss this possible connection with you in further detail. Please contact me at your earliest convenience. Thank you.

A year later - thanks for your input. I am happy to share any information. My great-aunt's maiden name was Misner - probably connected there also ;-)

I'm Larry's cousin. I'm Donald's (Norbert's older brother)son. I've done a little research as my sister-in-law is heavily involved in tracing her family roots and subscribes to many of the on-line resources for finding information. Even though we live so close we have not communicated much. I am a little older than Larry and have memories which help me to put the pieces together. It gets more complicated if we try to go deeper than my grandfather's lineage.
It was so nice of you to do that for Larry. You must be a very good friend.

I see you left a floral tribute for Frank Rancour. What is your family connection to him?
|Dennis Ward||Tammy pic|
Upon seeing your sister in your pic, it jogged something in my mind. I went looking and have a picture of Tammy and my sister Julie sitting on the front steps of my Grandmothers house, to good.
I will get a copy to you at some point.

Thanks again for the response. I just took a closer look at your avatar pic... that is Tammy on the left. I do remember her, she was on the quiet side as I recall, sort of shy. I was born in 49, and during 64 and 65 we lived out in the country. I would come into town every weekend to stay with Grandmother. So I didn't see a lot of her but I sure do remember her.
So which one are you then in the pic?
|Dennis Ward||RE: Relations|
Thank you for your response. Yes, Nada was my Grandmother. I found it interesting to hear you had actually met her and that she had baby set you and your sister. That made me wonder about years that would have been and to wonder if we had ever crossed paths.
I would be happy to share info, stories and photos with you as I go along. You can contact me via e-mail directly too, if you want. email@example.com.
I have just recently started working on my family tree and came across you on here. Elmer Misner was my Grandmother's half-brother, George Misner, my Great-Grandfather. I have been scanning some old pictures. If you are interested in some of them let me know.
