Victor Crette Hi - Sadly there are no markers. I've walked the entire area before. Everything is overgrown and it appears that it was used as a construction dumping ground in years past as there are large berms throughout. Regards, Phyllis
Calaveras County Hospital Cemetery The graves in the Calaveras County Hospital Cemetery were not marked except by a rock at the head of each plot. The only actual grave marker is for Mr. Evans whose parents erected it a few years after his death. The people buried there were usually paupers with no family to bury them and no funds left when they died to pay the cost. There is no way to know which plot holds which person since there are no burial records that were saved after the hospital closed down. After the closure of the hospital, paupers were buried in established cemeteries at county cost, but the county did not pay for markers only for burial.
Samuel Bechtel I walked the older part of the York Road Cemetery this morning. Although I found several Samuels and one Magdelena, none were in the date range on your request. There are gaps in the rows, it could be because of the age, the stone is either buried or gone.
