|Erica McLean Fitzgerald||RE: Lovey Brown|
I have not yet found anything indicating that our John Brady was in the Confederate Army, but who knows what I will find in the future. I do have one photo of Lovey and William Joshua Brown. It is a copy and is in one of my scrapbooks. I will email a copy to you in the next few days. My grandfather, William Thomas Weaver is son of Myrtle Brown Weaver, daughter of Lovey. As far as the Browns being Quakers...I know Fiday was. From the what I have learned, The Quakers are from Rosannah Craven's family line, dating all the way back to 1687 when George Harlan was a founder of Center Monthly Meeting in PA/MD area. Check out his memorial 9004082. When I send the photo I will send some more details about the family.

One other thing about Lovey: her birth date may not actually be 1859. She does not show up in the 1860 census when she would haven been almost 2, but does show up in the 1870 census listed as being born in 1862, placing her age at 8.

Lovey's given name was Lavina Ellender Brady. She is the daughter of John Gardner Brady (b. 15 Aug 1820 d. 20 Apr 1907) and Rosannah Lambert Craven (b. 10 Jun 1818 d. 22 Sep 1868). She was one of ten children from that marriage. John remarried and when on to have 6 more children. By the way, Lovey is my great great grandmother. I would certainly be interested in learning who your wife is descended through!
