As a child, I often lived with older family members, who generously shared their precious gifts of memories and family stories with me. Regret and longing was frequently expressed, over the inability to visit family grave-sites, and to leave flowers, or other expressions of love. As I have found family resting places, stories and mysteries resurface, are recorded, preserved, and some even solved, for future family members who may have questions about our family history! | |

FYI,
Hollywood cemetery, Richmond, Virginia. I have added to FindAgrave memorial, a map of soldiers section.
Most of the civil war soldiers buried here are in mass graves. Less than 10% of all soldiers have a grave marker. Any burial identified as being in section U, W or lot 703 .... is a mass grave.
Hollywood is a private cemetery. It is well funded and has a friendly, helpful, full time staff that can help with inquiries regarding burials. Please note, many civil war soldiers were not identified. Civil war death records were made by volunteers therefore much information is incorrect, incomplete or non existent.
