Do you have more information, on the Perez family from Poughkeepsie? If so, I have a couple quick questions. Thank you.
|VickiO||RE: William Haight|
It took me two passes to find it so it wasn't easy. I had to really concentrate on each headstone to try to see if each was readable. This one was to the left rear of the church where the really old headstones are and a bit left of center of that group -- up on the top of the hill not down the slope. The headstone was covered with several types of lichen but it was the orange stuff that was making the name almost unreadable. I have a little whisk broom and brushed off enough of the orange stuff to be able to read the name and dates.
I'm glad you are happy with the photo. I enjoy fulfilling requests.
Sorry you had to drive so far for nothing. I live in New Jersey so it was also a bit of a distance for me, too. My fiancÚ is related to Van Keuren's, Parliman's and other names found in that area. This was my second trip up there. It's a nice ride for me.
Enjoy the photo!

|Fred Saar||New Prospect Cemetery|
My wife and I are visiting the area from Canada until Easter Monday night, and are attempting to find the grave of William Haight (d. 1825) in the New Prospect Cemetery. We have looked directly behind the church, as well as on the hill at the rear and by the parking lot, but were unsuccessful as many of the stones are almost impossible to read.
Do you know who we could contact to determine the location of the grave, so as to make locating the headstone easier?
Sorry but I do not know the caretaker and the info I posted came from DAR records that were cemetery readings done in the 1930's. The stone you are looking for has probably weathered since then by the acid rain and hard to read.
Sorry I could not be of more help,
Paul, I have more info for you on your requests for Gideon Nichols and family at St George's. Please email me so I can send you the pictures to have a look.

You're very welcome. There are many stones that are even older in that cemetery. I am working on adding all the stones from that cemetery since there is so much historical significance. The stones for the Harts are a bit worn but I was able to match up the dates to some other references I found. I'm happy that it was able to help you!

You're very welcome. I'm glad that I could fill your request. Thanks for the compliment. I like to provide a close-up of the stone along with a picture of the full stone. It can be a helpful research tool.
