Hi Mike
I have Sarah Munson dt/o Allen Munson and Sarah Griffin of Scott Co., KY. and Hancock Co., IN. and am wondering if she is the one that died 20 Dec. 1848 Connorsville, Fayette Co., IN.? Her brother David K. Munson Adm. of Sarah Bell Estate in Fayette Co., IN. My Sarah Munson married John W. Bell.

Joseph N. (Nelson) Bell
Mike, you mentioned in your note to me that a Joseph Bell's CS memorial was being restored. I see in the listings for Grave Hill that there is a Joseph N. Bell listed as a sergeant in a light artillery unit. The recent family history I have been using says that there was a Joseph Nelson Bell who was a captain.

A listing of Civil War Soldiers lists him as a Lieut. also in a KY Light artillery Unit.

U.S. Civil War Soldiers, 1861-1865 Joseph N. Bell
Name: Joseph N. Bell
Side: Confederate
Regiment State/Origin: Kentucky
Regiment Name: Capt. Byrne's Company, Kentucky Horse Art'y
Regiment Name Expanded: Byrne's Company, Kentucky Horse Artillery
Rank In: Sr 2 Lieutenant
Rank In Expanded: Senior Second Lieutenant
Rank Out: Second Lieutenant
Rank Out Expanded: Second Lieutenant
Film Number: M377 roll 1

...John Wilson Bell, the eldest son of James Franklin Bell, became the father of General James Franklin Bell, the subject of this sketch....Two of his brothers, Captain Joseph Nelson Bell and Captain David Brainard Bell, served during the Civil war, in the Confederate army, as also did their brother-in-law, Henry Simpson Halley.

A family tree on Ancestry lists Joseph N. Bell as having been born in 1838 and as having died in 1980. As the memorial for Joseph does not list either DOB or DOD I was wondering if you may have that information now discernible on his monument. wold help to identify him greatly.

Thank you, Harvey

Memorial Photo of Sarah Bell
Mike, while checking on other children of Dr. Allen, I noted that the grave to the left of Sarah was marked with dual names of the following and his name is included:

Margaret Allen 91646576
Sarah Ann Allen 91646319

I have added photo requests for both so that you may receive credit for them.

Thank you, Harvey

Thank you Mike! Nice touch adding her sister's memorial also. I suspected she would not be buried next to her husband as she predeceased her husband. He is buried next to his second wife. Their son is buried in Arlington if you are curious: 6127852
