Hi Mr. Kemp,

I see you have taken quite a few pictures in the Johnston family cemetary in Newberry. I was told that Thomas Johnston (1725-1796)has a marker there that just reads "T.J." Did you come across it?

Thanks,

MR. KEMP,
WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS TO YOU HOW MUCH THESE PHOTOS MEAN TO ME. I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR YEARS TO GET SOMEONE TO GO OUT THERE AND TAKE THESE. YOU SIR, ARE A GENTLEMAN AND A SCHOLAR. I FEEL AS TH0UGH A HUGE GIFT HAS BEEN GIVEN TO ME TODAY. THIS DAY WAS NOT GOING SO GREAT, MY HUSBAND WAS REAR ENDED BY A DRUNK DRIVER. HE IS FINE BUT NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS WAS JUST THE THING TO BRIGHTEN TODAY'S DARK CLOUD. I JUST DON'T HAVE THE WORDS TO DO IT JUSTICE...THANK YOU SIR...THANK YOU.

Dear Mr.Kemp,

I certainly appreciate your giving up your time to go to the cemetery and take a photograph of this man's monument. I have added it to the register of physicians who served the Confederacy in a medical capacity and credited you with the image.

Did you notice any inscriptions on the part of the gravestone that has fallen on the ground?

Many thanks,
