You are welcome... there was nothing. Just a weathered brick like stone stuck in the ground. I tried to feel for any engraving and there is none.
I added all the Cochrans in the cemetery to Find A Grave and also Delia's husband's family plot (she is buried with the Cochrans).
Trying to figure out where each person is buried is impossible. The only thing marked is the lots. Comparing each section, there are 8 graves per lot... and grave #1 is not grave #1 in another section (according to where the headstones are places or have "landed". Wish I could help you figure it out, but there is no figuring this one out. I called my gal at the office and she confirmed this info. Sorry!
|Reena Parkey King||John Dawson|
Ian I took pictures of the whole plot. A large stone in the center with DAWSON next to it a stone that says FATHER 1839-1912. On the Cheboygan Co. web site (http://cheboygancountymi.org/toc.html)under the death section, there are several Dawson's listed, the one for Burt twp. is John Calhoun Dawson died Jan. 11, 1912. Could be the same one as in the civil war, but he is not in the listing on the civil war part of the same web site. I will need an email address to send you the rest of the pictures. I will add Jennie C. & turn over memorial to you. You will have to ask Dick Rohr if he is not related to turn over the memorial to you. Then you will be able to add what ever info you want.
I am visiting my family here at Burt lake & the cemetery is about a half mile from me. Let me tell you another strange thing, I was at the Yankee Springs cemetery last week.
