Troll's BRIDGE
RE: Marion Schwinderman
Becky,
Hi my G-G Grandfather was Jacob Schwinderman, his son Amos "ROY" my great grandfather, his daughter Vera Schwinderman Maassen, my grandmother. Amos sister Mable married into the Bolton family.

My grandparents are now dead Frank and Vera Maassen, I have pics of Boltons and Schwindermans and others that I was not sure who they were. I am figuring out who is who. I guess the Schwinderman's came from Ohio to NE, and My grandmother Vera was born in NE prior to the family moving to Iowa.

Marion Schwinderman was married to Hazle, whom was called Aunt Hazle, and lived to be 106 years old. The picture with the woman and 4 men was taken in 1954 and says Schwinderman siblings on it and the only Schwinderman siblings alive in 1954 were Edith, Amos "ROY", Marion, Raymond, Fredrick. I know that the man 2nd from right is Amos Schwinderman my G Grandfather. I remember him when I was 5 years old, and he died when I was 6. But the other men I am not sure who is who except Edith, Amos, Marion, Fredrick, Raymond, were all alive in 1954, so it has to be those siblings who were left. I do not know which men are Marion, Fredrick, or Raymond. Amos "Roy" had white hair by the time he was about 40 years old, and his wife Grace died in 1941.

I can not find the parents of Jacob Schwinderman, and that is where the trail goes dead? Most of my memorials are relatives and I do not want these people to be forgotten.

So we must be related? Your great grandmother and my great grandfather were sister and brother. So your GG Grandfather is also Jacob Schwinderman, and his wife was Alice Meeks Schwinderman, and she
was killed in a tornado on Easter Sunday in 1913.

I did send a email to a woman and asked her to
transfer to me a David Bolton, but she said she was his G G Grand-daughter. I did not know she was related to David Bolton, when I made the request. I never ask for transfers from a relative. This person might be your cousin, her name was Jeri?

I am glad you contacted me. Do you live in Iowa? I live in Washington state. I was born in Omaha NE, and lived my young years in IA and NE. I am now 53 years old. You have a nice day take care.

I changed her father's name as requested. I know what you mean about the death certificates. The only really reliable (half-way) source is the person themself. And of course back then, so many did not know how to read & write so their names on the census records, birth & death records, marriage records, etc. were spelled however the person writing the name down thought it was spelled. From some of the census records, I believe that some of the census takers barely knew how to write either. It really gets confusing & sometimes the only thing to do is take an educated guess. Good luck in your hunting!

Made changes as requested. Also linked to one child, who was in the same cemetery. Added names of each one's parents also. Hope that was ok.
