I love hearing old stories and history and am so grateful to Find A Grave for posting pictures and cemetery locations so that I can locate some missing members of my family. Encourage your children to ask questions and tell stories so that they can continue to enrich their lives & their children's sense of family. I find peace walking in the cemeteries and searching for names and taking photos to add to the Find A Grave forum.|

Thanks for your follow up. I, also, checked the different trees
trying to sort out his birthplace and still not sure what is correct.
Think I will leave it for now. Teamwork, that is what it is all about! Appreciate your input

Wondering what source you have found to change his birth place to New York? If he is in your family, glad to transfer. Let me know.

You are very welcome and I pray you get the answers you want on your family. I worked a lot on mine from 1994 through 2012, then started volunteering to cover Bates County Cemeteries in 2013. I am retired and with gas being cheap right now, I am trying to update more. At our big local cemetery, I get new photos each month as the new stones come in. I pray you have a blessed New Year.

We are having a pleasant break in the weather here so I was able to run out to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Have you ever been to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery? If not, it is a very interesting cemetery. There are three sections; the front section are more recent burials followed by an unoccupied section, a middle section with grave not so recent followed by a sizeable ditch, back section with older graves among very old cedar trees. This old section was the original cemetery with many old tombstones the are weathered away or have toppled-over. At the back of this section is where Mary Jane Harris' grave is located. I will attempt to get a clearer picture whenever I am back to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Gale Yocum

Hi Sue Ellen, thanks for writing. I have looked at what you are suggesting for Maria before. However, the cemetery record gives age at death as 19 years.
I will get out there when the weather is better and check out the marker. Perhaps it was transcribed incorrectly.
All the best, Debra

Well hi Cousin! They are my Gr Gr Gr Grandparents. My line is through their daughter Elizabeth Annie (Annie Elizabeth). I have it both ways because I was originally told Elizabeth Annie but I'm now trying to find that information again.
The pictures are great! I've never seen pictures that old in such good condition. Do you have any more of them or the rest of the family?

Hi! Earlier this year you left pictures of them on their memorials. Are you related? Where did you get the pictures?
