Bio and Links
I am a genealogical researcher engaged in a project to identify early pioneers of the Alaska Fortymile country which was mostly settled by gold miners before and after the great Klondike Gold Rush of 1898. My goal is to write a short biographical sketch of each pioneer which eventually will culminate into a book.

If I've contacted you, it is most likely to update a memorial with info I have found or to seek clarification of information you have provided. Or, I may have requested a photo that, with permission, I will be allowed to use for publication. (Credit is always given to the photographer if the photo is used.)

I may have also requested one or more memorial transfers and if you have graciously granted my request, thank you.

For more information about my project, see the article in the 10 Aug 2012 issue of "What's Up Yukon."

Noble Shaw
SB, I am not sure if I have found your grave marker
for Noble Shaw. I have been to the Joliet Cemetery
many times and I found only one Shaw. The name on
the grave marker is Noah A Shaw. There are no dates
on the grave. If you want I can e-mail the photo
to your regular e-mail address. Let me know what
you think.

A photo of the gravestone has been added. Please include his date of birth Nov 14, 1851.

He may need to be linked to Christina E. Shannon Mem # 91796875 as she is buried along side of him.

You're very welcome, Susan. Just glad I was able to help in some way. Best wishes for the rest of your research for your book.

Ovie Anderson
Hi Susan,

I looked for the headstone of Ovie Anderson (Find A Grave Memorial# 105915914) today to fulfill your photo request. While the cemetery records have the burial recorded, I could not locate a headstone for Ovie. The burial is in the oldest section of the cemetery, and there are lots of graves without tombstones in that area. In case you want to update the memorial, Ovie's grave is designated as 1st Addition, Block 42, Grave 5. I will leave the existing photo request in case you want to have someone else see if they can locate a headstone for Ovie. If you would like an overview photo of where the cemetery records show Ovie is buried, let me know and I will take one when I am back at Wynooche Cemetery in the next couple weeks.

Take care,

Dan

Charles Arnold's birthdate
My wife's grandfather added four years to his age so he could work in the munitions factories in WWII, so perhaps Charles did something similar.
