Donna, I am tracking down information on my family, and I believe Birdie may be my great grandmother - my grandmother was Audrey Rogers, born in Lyra, TX 1904.
It is only my brother and I left, so I'm having to work hard to fill in the pieces (a lot of missing pieces). I'd really love to find out how my grandmother ended up in Chicago in the 40's.

Unfortunately, many corporate-owned cemeteries are trying to minimize the amount of work they have to do to help family members or volunteers helping family members locate and photograph their families. There is definitely nothing illegal about doing it! We have over 50,000 photos being added daily, and we've never heard of a single case where someone got into legal trouble with this hobby. A private cemetery can, of course, ask you to leave, but when you tell them you are their photographing a grave for a family member, we hope they don't have an issue with that!
If we have plot information, as we often do, you can avoid the cemetery office altogether and head straight for the grave. That's the best case scenario.
