African-American Cemetery in Fredericktown MO
Today I was able to get into the cemetery. The county has gone in and cleared it clean. The stones that are in there are still there. there are a lot that do not have headstones. I am not sure who has the records for this cemetery to even figure out who is buried where. Lots of unmarked graves in this cemetery. I am so sorry that I couldn't get the ones you needed. will be sending messages back with your be expecting them.

Cemetery in Fredericktown Missouri
I see you have numerous requests for the African-American Cemetery in Fredericktown. I searched for it and finally found it behind the Masonic and Methodist Cemeteries. This is a weedy, overgrown site to see. It truly upset me when I saw it. But I do intend on getting in there when things are easier to see. Probably this fall or winter will be able to get in and research it a bit better. Thanks for your patience!

RE: City Cemetery
Hi, Andrea :) Yes, Sunset Hills used to be called City Cemetery. The Park & Rec Dept has a full list of burials--sorry, I don't have the number for them handy--but, they are very nice and very helpful! Good Luck and Take Care. Kathy

Horine cemetery document
I inserted a photo of a document showing that Sammual Burris is buried in Horine cemetery I think with a civil war stone but no info. There are also some plot corner stones with some standing and some laying down. One has "Burris" on it.

RE: samuel burris
Hi Andrea, I'm sorry to report that I don't know anything about Sammuel Burris. All I know is that his grave is in the same small weedy & overgrown cemetary that my paternal Grandmother (Lattimore) is buried in - in Horine, Missouri. My Dad showed me the cemetary a couple of years ago. He mentioned that there is also a slave buried there. There is a lot of new construction going up around the cemetary so I'm afraid vandalism is more likely since no one cares for the cemetary now.
I'd like to make the trip down this next summer (from my home in Iowa) & take some pictures of the cemetary location & the head stones. Unfortunately I don't know how much will be legible as they are a hundred or so years old. If I get any pictures or info, I will share that with you.

Thanks, Bob woodland

RE: Statens
Hi Andrea,

Sorry I am so dense today. I looked up the death record for David Staten and as you said he is buried in the Stone Church Cemetery. I will add him to my cemetery listing. There are a lot of graves in the cemetery that have on markers on them so they were not added to the list the caretaker made and sent to me.

I am sure my great great grandmother is buried in there but there is no marker to prove she is.

I can give you the name of the caretaker but all he has is a list that was taken by two researchers Madge Clifton and Beck Boyd.

Are there any others you think are buried in there.

Let me know

RE: Statens
I have a list of the known people that are buried in Stone Church cemetery in Ste. Genevieve County Missouri. Yes the cemetery is still there and have visited it several times. It is well taken care of.

Give me the names you are looking for and send them to my email address
