I'm Curt, originally born and raised in Decatur, AL, I have resided in Birmingham for the past 29 years. I'm very blessed in that I grew up around all 4 of my grandparents and 4 of my great-grandparents, so genealogy and the stories in my family found me instead of the other way around. Most of my family immigrated to this country in the 18th century from England and Scotland. Thanks to everyone on Findagrave for all you do. To GOD be the glory, great things he hath done.

Nelson Roper

I've been working on the Roper line a little lately, mostly spinning wheels - they are a hard bunch to pin down. Have you ever found a Nelson Roper's family on the 1860 Census? I've tried every trick I know and can't find them in general searches or page by page reviews of Banks and Whitfield counties in Georgia. Also, have you ever seen a birth date for Katie, Nelson's wife?

Was the fast on the send button..sorry. I am so happy when loved ones find these memorials. The hospital is getting a beautiful, real large monument made with all the names of the ones buried in the North Texas State Hospital cemetery. I have been doing the research and have loved each moment I spend on finding information about each one. I appreciate ones like you SO MUCH. I feel a reward when I can link any one of them to a family. Lorenzo now has one!!

Thank you for contacting me. I rechecked all the information I had on the person in question. His father was Nelson A and Mother Mary. His death certificate shows his birthplace as GA. The GA looks like a CA so that is most likely where the CA came into place. His death certificate shows the length of stay as 19 years 6 days. I updated his memorial.

My husband's grandparents were William Turner and Eva L. Barker. Their son, Earl Lee Turner, was my husband's father. I don't have much history on this family. David would be interested in any info that you have.

Good luck in your search.

Curt I have a copy of the probate that lists the heirs. I don't think there is a marker for Harriet Ann HADDOCK and John Henry Davidson. Mark Littlejohn has checked that cemetery.

Is you email still plumcrazy?

Hope this helps. Maredia

I don't have much info on this section of the family. My husband is a descendant of William and his first wife, Eva L. Barker Turner.

The pictures that I have, I found on Ancestry.Com site.

Good luck with your search.

Please contact me via private mail and we'll swap those Waldrops, okay? I'll introduce you to one of your direct cousins, too! Chris

Two different Waldrop lines? INTERESTING. Don't know UV, but God bless him!
Currently working on the Martha Jane Irby Myer Waldrop documentation. Oh fun.
