Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been researching my ancestral history for several decades, now with accelerated intent since my retirement two years ago. Rigorous research into my family's genealogy has been a natural fit for me. Paramount in my pursuit of the past is to secure irrefutable, verifiable documentation that can only be discovered through hard work -pertinent facts that the mere passerby cannot obtain by simply reading dates and names engraved on weathered stone. My quest for proof of life requires much more than patience, time, energy, comfortable shoes with good soles needed when exploring historic cemeteries. It really helps to have a loving spouse who is willing to accompany one on field trips to national and regional archives, perusing dusty, giant tomes and fragile, faded documents in courthouses. To be a really good genealogist, one must possess a lust for learning, quest for knowledge, insatiable curiosity, and a reputation for being a bit of a sweet sleuth and beating down the bushes with the perseverance of a pit bull. And hopefully, in time, one digs up a nugget within a birth/marriage bond/death certificate, discovers an age-yellowed journal/diary/family Bible, a tattered scrapbook bulging at the seams with memorabilia, and precious, delicate, artifacts. Preserving the past with respectful, reflective passion.

GRAVER
My Memorials (those I created and those I manage) and my Virtual Cemeteries are works-in-progress. I am, admittedly, a perfectionist in all my endeavors. I appreciate all the fine details that help flesh-out the biographies of loved ones whose lives were fully lived. CAVEAT EMPTOR: I am not infallible. If I've made a mistake, I respond positively to pleasant suggestions for corrections. If you leave a message on this profile page but have disabled the message feature on your profile, I will be unable to reply. FAG is an incredible venue that works great when everyone treats one another with respect and cooperation.

TRANSFERS:
Unfortunately, there are FAG bullies who prefer to boss others and are in a race to rack up huge numbers of memorials; created and managed! They deliberately refuse to grant transfers to folks with the right to manage memorials of their own relatives. I am NOT on of them! I'll be delighted to transfer your family members to you - just tell me how you relate.

CORRECTIONS + ADDITIONS:
If you wish to offer information regarding corrections, family links, or provide additional data that I can incorporate into an individual's bio, please click the 'Edit' tab on the memorial in question and use the "Suggest a Correction" link to send me an email. I'll be delighted to accommodate. Please don't post requests on my profile page - I'll see your SAC Edit/email and respond more quickly.

COPYRIGHT:
Per FAG policies regarding photos I have taken and submitted, as well as biographies I have written, I hold the copyright, so please DO NOT copy, lift, modify, alter, or post my pix or bios on any web-site for any purpose without written permission by me.

SURNAMES:
Family names I am engaged in continued, rigorous research include but are not limited to: Alden, Bardsley, Bowen, Brindley, Campbell, Cuneo, Current, Davis, DESSAU, Duncan, Ensor, FISHER, Fitts, Fitzhugh, Goldsmith, Hall, Harbour, Hart, Hitchcock, HUNSAKER, Hunt, HUTCHISON, O'Briant, Jablonski, JORDAN, King, Landes, Makepeace, Merryman, Monson, Mullins, O'Briant/O'Brien, Owings, Peet, Pulliam, REINBACH, Reynolds, Rogers, RICHARDS, SEYMOUR, Watson, Simmons, Spencer, Thayer, Watson, WEBB, Whitaker, Wilmott, Wise, Woodward.

Hi D,

I am not related and I know what you mean by "bullies". There are several that are just as distantly related demanding I transfer common ancestry to them. They are just plain rude and don't even have the respect to tell how they are related.

Findagrave.com is a lifesaver for me since I have put about three cemeteries in central Illinois that would have been related by blood or marriage. Then they not only ask for direct family but aunts, uncles,1st,2nd, 3rd cousins, and husbands and wifes of inlaws. So I have become a stickler and follow the Find A Grave guidelines as close as possible. One person didn't, "want to be lectured", so they cooled off and eventually sent the information to add. I also added the confederate mound in Oak Woods to honor all my ancestors who fought on the north and south.

Wish I could help but this is one of the ones I added since it was in the area of the mound. Is there anyone else I could transfer to you?

Thanks,
Doug the bug

RE: Reinbach's
I grew up in Franklin and have fond memories of my hometown. Photographing Franklin Cemetery was one of my goals. I just wondered if you knew there is a street in Franklin called Reinbach Street. I imagine most likely named after one of your ancestors.

Reinbach's
If Henry and Sophia are your second great grandparents, I feel you should have management of their memorials. I have transferred them to you, I hope you don't mind. You can update Sophia's memorial.

RE: Photos of my Great Grandparents Headstones!
We are going to look at the other Sulphur Springs in Morgan County, hopefully this weekend. I think the girl who posted alot of the photos and graves confused the two , there are multiple repeats of people. At first I thought she just had the wrong county, but on graveyards.com there is a google map that shows a cemetery in Morgan County, just down from Pisgah cemetery...This girl posted the picture of the Loami Sulphur Springs Cemetery...there are 8 requests there, I want to investigate...was your Kate Fisher at Pisgah?? We found 1 grave there for someone...anyway will let you know what we find :)Morgan County is the next one over from Sanamon, heading west Connie

RE: Photos of my Great Grandparents Headstones!
You are very welcome!! The babies were confusing, the one that says Gracie on it also says twin below (we think) the other one I can see son of and I think H and V (Hamlet and Virgilla) and the year 1884...not sure where the girl is..I have Gracie on her memorial, because I saw twin..then I saw Gracie is the daughter of Alice and John Fisher (took pics, they are with Hamlet and Virgilla) If you look at the cemetery picture on Sulphur Springs, to the right of the road, that is a big group of Fishers..I took a few pictures of the group, then posted the memorials that were not on here yet. Found alot of Gibson's for someone else, but not the one they wanted:( also had one Jarrett request, found lots and lots of them...we see the same names in several different cemeteries...always on the lookout for Fishers when we are in that area :) take care, Connie and Wayne
