I read your email and then followed your line on Find A Grave. Wow! That's quite a list. For some reason your email disappeared from my inbox. Never had that happen before, but I had already written down your line as you described it.
I also descended from William (the younger), then his son, John R. Bloom, then John's daughter Effie Bloom Mays, her son, Moses Mays, and then Moses' daughter Laura Mays Smeltzer, who was my maternal grandmother.
How nice to meet a Cousin! I understand there are thousands of us out there

|L Niedermeyer||RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 71347069 Marie Niedermeier|
So we're sort of cousins! How wonderful! Thanks for updating the memorial. We've been through church records both in St. Sebald and also in Ortenburg and it was so exciting when we were finally able to tie these seven siblings together. I'm sure I've bumped into your research over the years on the internet here and there! Please let me know if there is anything else you'd like from me.
|L Niedermeyer||Find A Grave Memorial# 71347069 Marie Niedermeier|
Hi Linda! We're related to this woman and can tell you more about her and her family. Her full name is Anna Maria Niedermeyer. She was born 15 Sep 1825 in Ortenburg, Bayern, Germany and died sometime before Charles Preitauer married Julia Taschner (before 1867), in Iowa, probably Clayton County. Her parents are Gottlieb Niedermayer (b. 1786, Germany) and Anna Maria Diem (b. 1790, Germany). She is one of seven Niedermayer (changed to Niedermeyer in the US) siblings who came to America in the mid-1850's from their hometown of Ortenburg, Germany. The siblings started out in Clayton County, and all died there except for the eldest, Johann Gottlieb "John", who moved to Kansas. The following people are Marie's siblings, if you want to link them to her memorial (I am listing the names in our family records:
Find A Grave Memorial# 55465428 (Johann Gottlieb "John")
Find A Grave Memorial# 67495162 (Carl Gottfied)
Find A Grave Memorial# 67477036 (Maria Catherine married to Christian Mossner/Messner)
Find A Grave Memorial# 67449367 (Rosina Sabina married to Conrad Hock)
Find A Grave Memorial# 122765600 (Carolina Gotthelfin married to John Weege)
