More information will follow.

I grew up in Floyd County and when I retired I moved back to that area from Atlanta. I'm glad I returned "home". I never realized the full extent of my "roots" in Floyd County and NW Georgia.

The families I am following are:
Cox, Miller, Dempsey, Strickland, Partee, Conn, Malcom, Cummings, Morgan, Allen, Town(e)s, Loveless or Lovelace

These families were pioneer families in the following counties: Floyd, Bartow, Polk, Cherokee, Morgan and others with the original names.

I try to link all of the families together to recognize their contribution to the growing of the community.

I love researching these families and appreciate all the assistance I can get from others.

Thanks,
Phyllis

RE: Adair family
Accepted the edits. Sorry. I am not in the habit of checking this. It seems to be a relatively new feature. I will gladly transfer any if you send me the transfer request.

David Barton
Thanks for your comment.
I originally had Capt Barton. Based on a previous comment received and the headstone, Capt was changed to Pvt.
Also reflected in the Barton Database.

Check out the replaced photos on Carolyn and her parents. I redid them so they don't have my shadow on them and easier to read. Anything new to report?
Blessings,
Patsy

I found Carolyn's sister and knew you would like the information. I have sent a request for a connection to her parents to the volunteer who has done her memorial. Martha Townes Neel, Evergreen Cem., St. John's Co. Florida Find A Grave #

Blessings,
Patsy

I have made the connections as requested. Thanks for all the information, you furnished so much, I usually can find hardly anything and if I do you have to join and pay before seeing. I just wanted to make sure of the family connection since there was a name change. Have you found a burial site for Carolyn's brother Jackson Tinsley Townes and sister Martha Townes Neel. I have searched the Find A Grave for Georgia but they have no memorials there? I was a volunteer at the Ark, where Carolyn was the director. She was a neat lady and I sure miss her. Blessing, Patsy

I was friends with Carolyn his daughter and had met some of the family. I don't remember her saying that their name had been changed so I searched for the newspaper obituary and found the MainStreet Newspaper obit and have included it on Carolyn's memorial. I knew she had a brother who had recently passed and also found a sister's name listed but have found neither of their burial locations. Maybe this is a different family. I do know Carolyn had relatives in Rome which it looks like lots of the relatives of your John HT Towns and Kate Allen Towns are from. I'll keep searching for her niece Joyce and nephew Allen to see if they say this is Carolyn's grandparents. Until I find out different I decline to make the addition at this time. Do you have a Census record or something to back up your request or are you a relative?
