Find a Grave profile:

We have been going to Longfield Cemetery in Anderson County (Lake City) TN. every year since we discovered it back in 2007. Later we discovered Find-A-Grave. We hunt for veterans graves, and place a marker and a flag on all we find. The first grave we found was that of Jesse Jackson Rigs.

It was face up in the dirt covered in moss and debris and could barely be read. We re-erected it, cleaned it and placed a flag by it. We have been cleaning all the old veterans grave stones as we find them. We have since found 29 veterans graves and with the help of a local person, we still place flags on all the veterans graves at Longfield in May and maintain them with new flags throughout the year.

In 2012 we co-founded the Allen County Veterans Memorial Foundation

( )

to establish the "Allen County War Memorial"

The foundation has its' own Find-A-Grave account for its purposes.

While we cannot answer every request to find graves near us: We will accept photo requests for graves in the following Jackson Township Cemeteries:

Bethlehem, Fisher, Desenberg, LaFayette, West Point and Liberty.

We will accept photo requests of "Veterans" graves in all cemeteries in the immediate Lima, Ohio area.

Email your requests directly or post a message to us on this site.

They are not gone until they are forgotten.

RE: Cemetery pictures
Hi, it took me a little while to find the address I misplaced.
There is a blue house located at 256 Flinthill Lane, La Follette, TN. 37766-5900. The main road that Flinthill Lane adjoins is Chestnut Stump Road. You can not see the blue house from Chestnut Stump Road. The little cemetery is at the top of a steep hill behind the house. The general location is about 10 miles outside La Follette, I've been told.

Civil War soldiers - Longfield
I have been working on this project for two years now, and I did a census of Longfield quite a while ago. I do not know where I got his name and placement. I would think he would be in one of the several Duncan cemeteries in the area. I do live sort of nearby, in Knox Co.

Civil War soldiers - Longfield
James R. Webb, Isaac Black, Thomas Riggs, Joseph M. Britton, Charles Taylor Duncan, Esau Miller, Jesse Jackson Riggs are the Civil War soldiers I have found buried at Longfield. Four with govenment stones, two with private stones, and one unmarked. Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have found any other CW soldiers in Anderson Co.

Civil War soldiers
I have entered all the Civil war soldiers in Longfield Cemetery in the database registry of Civil war soldiers buried in East Tennessee at the East Tennessee History Center. Charles Duncan Taylor, Co. A, 1 Tn. Inf. is buried here in an unmarked grave. Do you know where?

Cemetery pictures
Hi. The cemetery I was interested in is a small family cemetery in Campbell county, about 10 miles outside La Follette.
The cemetery has about 10 graves with markers and I am not sure how many others may be buried there. No one I have spoken to seems to know who most of the graves contain since most are marked with plain stones.
My paternal great grandfather Amon Cooper is there. He was killed in a mining accident in January 1913. I searched for his burial place for many years before discovering the existence of this small cemetery. I can provide other details if you think you might be in that area sometime. I live in Florida and the property is up for sale.

Hi, I just saw the aerial photo you posted of the Longfield Cemetery and came to your page. Thank you for posting the picture and for the project you are doing at the cemetery.
Do you take aerial photos of other cemeteries in Anderson or Campbell county, TN?
