Hi - I am just looking at details of my great grandparents and see the memorial of my Great Aunt Joan who died aged 35. She is indeed the daughter of James and Caroline French (nee Reed) however James Starley French who has a plaque at the foot of Joan's grave is not her brother or son of James and Caroline. I am pretty certain he is James and Caroline's nephew.
Its all very interesting.

My name is James Marking from Louisville, Kentucky, USA. I noticed you posted two memorials by the name of John and Alice Marking. My Marking family comes from Westphalia, Prussia of which I understand was part of Germany. My great-great grandfather John George Marking (27 Feb 1829 - 10 May 1902) came from Westphalia Prussia. Do you have any additional information about John and Alice?

HELLO..!! Additions posted...Thanks very much!!!
I found your entry whilst checking the circumstances of the death of Wilhelm Schuberth. German airman interred at Cannock Chase Soldatenfriedhoff.
Can I pass to you this extract from Sussex Police records?
It is from Document ESRO (East sussex Record Office)DR/B 41/5
20/04/44 Fw Wilhelm Schudberth B65125/37 Wop/AG 1000yards west of Cooden Beach Station 06:40 to Belle Hill mortuary.
This is Bexhill - the other side of Beachy Head -rather than Friston. For him to be buried at Friston,I assume the body went from Bexhill mortuary into RAF hands (based at Friston).
Other German bodies recovered in the Bexhill area were buried at Bexhill Cemetery and later re-interred at Cannock Chase.
Hope this helps
