|Been into genealogy research about 20 years. I am a member of the TN Gen. Soc. Find-A-Grave seemed like a natural fit. I already had the info. for my ancestors with records in FAG and have loaded most of them and just provided info. to managers on others. Really enjoying the efforts. Family names are Neeley, Ryan, Tigret, Allen, Arrons/Arrans/Aaron, Ratliff, Riddle, Miller, Lesley, Massey, Woodruff, Campbell, Kerby, etc. I am amazed at the attitude a few members exibit when being requested to transfer a relative's record for Mgmnt. Providing DNA is not always possible.|

#80370666 - This is my gggrandfather. Will you transfer the memorial to me? Have you listed all the burials in this cemetery? I'm also trying to find where his wife,Jane "Jenny" Manning Gardner is buried. I feel she must be in this same cemetery. Perhaps there is no stone for her.

I've been trying to work on some family genealogy and in my grandmother's family I'm finding alot of links back to some memorials you've put up. My grandmother's brother is James/Jay Hunt Neeley memorial #70570742 and i saw you left a comment on there calling him cuz. I was just wondering if it were able to get in touch with you and see if you could and or would tell me anything about the family line that goes from them. I don't know much history really in the family. I hope it's possible to hear from you, my email is Lilmissmorbid89@gmail.com.
|Rudy Caldwell||Mary Ann Elizabeth South Dillard|
I have been looking for information to confirm the 1834 DOB and 1893 DOD that is commonly found in Ancestry family trees and your Find A Grave post for Mary Ann Elizabeth South Dillard. As yet I have not been successful but have found some information that proves that these dates are incorrect. Mary AE South Dillard submitted an application for a Confederate Widow's Pension dated 28 Aug 1902. From the information in the application, there is no doubt that the Mary A. Dillard who signed the application is Mary Ann Elizabeth South Dillard. The application gives her husbands name ( James W. Dillard ), his DOD, and the date of their marriage. I agree she is probably buried at the Sherman Cemetery like her husband but the headstone is probably no longer readable. The application says she was 70 years old which would put her DOB at 1832. If you would like me to forward you a link to this application send me your email address. I don't known how to attach it to this message.
I hope you don't mind me pointing out this error and would appreciate you changing the Find A Grave record.

|Cheryl Moore||RE: Melinda Rebecca Ratliff|
I'm glad you are on the mend.
Here (briefly) is a run down of Becky's family.
Mother and Father: Malinda/Melinda Knowles bca 1830, d. before 1875 in Mississippi.
Stephen Calvin Ratliff, bc 1830 Ala, died between 1880 - 1900. They married 27 Dec 1855 in Ponotoc Co Miss.
Amanda L. J., Elijah (died young - was probably named after Melinda's step-father: Elijah Head)
Mary A. Elizabeth, Melinda A. Rebecca, J. Emma S.P.,
Stephen Calvin, Jr.
Melinda's parents were: Joseph Knowles b.ca 1808 GA and Mary Raynor/Rainer bca 1818 Ga.
Their children: Melinda, Hardy, Rebecca, Thomas, Jane, Nancy, Joseph, Mary, William, Sarah Emma Paralee (probably who JESP above was named for) and James. There was another son enumerated in the 1840 Autauga Co Ala census who was not on the 1850 census.
I believe Joseph's father to also be Joseph and Mary's father to be Hardy Rainer.
If you ever come across any evidence to support the Smith birth name theory - I would love to hear it!
If you are interested in any more detailed information on the above, I'd be happy to share.Are you the designated family researcher
Have a great weekend -
|Cheryl Moore||"Becky" Ratliff Allen|
I checked your messages just to make sure I haven't talked to you before.
I have information on Becky Ratliff Allen. I'm intrigued by the mention that her birth name was Smith. That is the first I've heard that.
Can you elaborate?
I have that she is the daughter of Stepen Calvin Ratliff and Malinda Noles/Knowles. I do find it strange that of all her siblings she is the only one born in Illinois. Malinda's family - brothers and sisters started migrating to Illinois from Mississippi, after recently moving from Alabama somewhere between 1855 and 1865. As far as I know Malinda is the only one who remained in Miss, where her mother died. Malinda Knowles and all her 11 siblings where born in Alabama.I descend from her younger sister, Rebecca.
Any information you could share would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for all your hard word in preserving family history. Thomas Alexander and Sarah Jane Thompson are my 2nd great grandparents. I have a private comment. Please contact me directly email@example.com. Thank you. Kim Zimmerman
Your memorial #77513285 is a duplicate of Hart's 76423153. These need to be combined.
